Excitech Toolkit Overview

What is the Excitech Toolkit? The Excitech Toolkit is a suite of essential tools, utilities and apps for Revit, Civil 3D and AutoCAD

(coming soon). These tools are designed to enhance the users' experience, improve productivity and introduce new capability when working with these platforms.

Can the Excitech Toolkit be purchased separately? Yes, the Excitech Toolkit for Revit, Civil 3D and AutoCAD (coming soon) can be purchased separately

as an annual subscription. Please contact your Excitech Account Manager to enquire about pricing.

Customers who purchase an Autodesk subscription contract from Excitech, which includes an AutoCAD, Revit or Civil 3D product, will gain access to the Excitech Toolkit at no extra cost.

Pinnacle Base

What is Pinnacle Base? Pinnacle Base is a scaled down version of Pinnacle Series which is an online e-learning platform

designed to accelerate technology skills development and support just-in-time, on-demand end user

training. Pinnacle Base offers a similar user experience and contains all the learning content, videos

and guides for the Excitech Toolkit. Pinnacle Base is being made available to Excitech subscription customers at no extra charge to enable rapid user learning and adoption of the full suite of tools in

the Excitech Toolkit.

How does Pinnacle Base differ from Pinnacle Series? Pinnacle Base offers a similar e-learning experience as Pinnacle Series for users. Whereas Pinnacle

Series includes full libraries of training content and CPD accredited courses for Autodesk, Microsoft,

Adobe, CIBSE and more, Pinnacle Base contains only the learning materials and video tutorials for

the tools contained in the Excitech Toolkit.

How do I gain access to the full training course library of Pinnacle Series? To gain access to all the Autodesk, Microsoft, Adobe, CIBSE learning courses as well as more

functionality such as being able to add your own content, create advanced workflows, learning paths, assign courses to people or groups, and increased administration capabilities, rights control,

SSO and reporting, to name a few, Pinnacle Base can be upgraded to Pinnacle Series. Please contact

I already subscribe to Pinnacle Series; do I also need to sign in to Pinnacle Base to

access the Excitech Toolkit training materials? Customers who already have an active Pinnacle Series subscription will, in addition to the full

catalogue of Autodesk training materials, also gain full access to the Excitech Toolkit learning

materials subscription as part of their contract. This will automatically appear in the Asset Library.

What are the advantages of Pinnacle Base? Pinnacle Base is being made available to help users understand and rapidly adopt all the tools,

apps and utilities found in the Excitech Toolkit. It is a single source reference to help users

understand and make full use of the wide variety of productivity tools available in the Excitech

Toolkit.

Availability and Entitlement

Why is Excitech making the Excitech Toolkit and Pinnacle Base available at no cost

to its Autodesk subscription customers? The Excitech Toolkit, which provides essential productivity tools for AutoCAD, Revit & Civil 3D, supported by Pinnacle Base to enable rapid user learning and adoption, is being made available to help its customers gain a competitive advantage.

Which customers will be entitled to the Excitech Toolkit and Pinnacle Base? Customers who purchase or renew an Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD subscription contract with Excitech will be provided with a license corresponding to the number of products in their Autodesk contract. Autodesk LT products are excluded.

For example, a customer who purchases or renews 20 x AEC Collections, 5 x AutoCAD and 5 x Infrastructure Design Suites will be granted licenses for the following:

• 25 Excitech Toolkit for Revit licenses

• 25 Excitech Toolkit for Civil 3D licenses• 30 Excitech Toolkit for AutoCAD licenses (coming soon)

• 30 Pinnacle Base licenses

Will customers who have an active Autodesk Subscription Contract with Excitech be

able to benefit from the Excitech Toolkit and Pinnacle Base? Yes. All customers who have an active Autodesk Subscription Contract with Excitech containing Revit, Civil 3D or AutoCAD can benefit from and gain access to the Excitech Toolkit and Pinnacle Base.

It is not currently possible to deliver the Excitech Toolkit and Pinnacle Base licenses automatically for existing contracts. Therefore, this will be managed on demand. Customers wishing to take

advantage and gain access to the Excitech Toolkit and Pinnacle Base prior to their contract

renewal should reach out to their Excitech Account Manager to request access.

Autodesk product is purchased, or contract renewed. The installation links can also be found on

Can I install the latest version of the Excitech Toolkit without needing to update the serial number/license? Yes. You are free to install the latest version of the Excitech Toolkit without needing a new or updated serial number/license. The Excitech Toolkit serial numbers operate as a subscription policy and will activate all supported versions of the software.

Is it possible to install the Excitech Toolkit silently? Yes. There are two different switches to do so.

• /SILENT: Instructs Setup to be silent or very silent. When Setup is silent the wizard and the

background window are not displayed but the installation progress window is.

• /VERYSILENT: When a setup is very silent this installation progress window is not displayed.

Is it possible to activate multiple seats with single serial number? Yes. If you obtained a multi seat license aligned to your Autodesk subscription contract you canactivate the Excitech Toolkit on as many computers as your license was issued for using a single serial number.

Is a network license available? No. But you can activate the license with one serial number on several computers with a multi seatlicense.

Is there a way to automate the activation process, (i.e. enter serial number)? You can store your serial number and activation user data in ASCII license.lic file. Please find thefile structure below.

Once you have the license.lic file populated you need to copy it on each computer in followingfolder: C:\ProgramData\CGS plus\Revit ToolsC:\ProgramFiles\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\ExcitechToolkitForAutoCAD.bundle\Contents\Resources\ C:\ProgramFiles\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\ExcitechToolkitForCivil3D.bundle\Contents\Resources\The license will be activated upon first run of the command. This process will take some secondsand the internet connection is needed to successfully finish the activation.

Is it possible to install the Excitech Toolkit together with other 3rd party tools? Yes. The Excitech Toolkit installs as a regular plugin and can be installed in parallel with other 3rd party tools.

Do I need multiple installations for different platforms? Yes. Each platform has its own installation.

Do I need multiple serial numbers for different platforms? Excitech Toolkit: No. Typically you will receive a single serial number which will activate the Excitech

Toolkit for which Revit, Civil 3D and AutoCAD (coming soon).

Pinnacle Base: No. Your contract administrator will be given a single login to access the platform

where they will be able to add additional users.

Do I need a serial number of each for my users? No. Customers will receive a single license / serial number for each of the products they are entitled to. This serial number will contain the equivalent number of activations based on the relevant

product mix.

Do Excitech Toolkit licenses expire? Yes. The licenses issued for your Excitech Toolkit are issued for up to 12 months and will roughly align to your Autodesk contract end date.

Customers with multi-year contracts will have their Excitech Toolkit licenses updated automatically each year until the contract end date.

Will there be any updates and what will they include? There will be regular updates to the Excitech Toolkit published on our download page.https://www.excitech.co.uk/downloads Please check this page regularly and compare the installed version with yours. You can find currently installed version in the about dialogue.The updates include bug fixes, existing functionality improvements and brand-new tools

Who develops the Excitech Toolkit for AutoCAD, Revit and Civil 3D? The Excitech Toolkit is made available as part of Excitech's distribution agreement with KobiLabs. To ensure the best and most comprehensive productivity tools for Revit, Civil 3D and AutoCAD (coming

soon) were made available to customers, Excitech chose to partner with KobiLabs to distribute their

globally adopted and rapidly expanding toolkits.

How do I get technical support for the Excitech Toolkit? Should things not go to plan please fist review these FAQ’s for a solution as most problems and

Excitech Toolkit for Civil 3D has not loaded. What now? Description of problem: After the setup, the Excitech toolkit ribbon tab does not appear.
