SFX Principal Stella Flannery commented;

"At SFX we are delighted with the outcomes of our students this year and we commend them, thestaff members who have guided them and the parents and guardians who have supported them inthese endeavours. Our applied, advanced outcomes have been outstandingly good, with 65% ofentrants achieving distinction and starred distinction outcomes. This has enabled some of our mostassiduous BTEC students to gain places at top universities, such as King's College London and I amdelighted to see top HE routes opening up for BTEC students. At A level, of 300 students, more than280 passed three or more A levels and we are gratified to see universities going out of their way toaccommodate SFX students with undergraduate places. Of almost a thousand examinations sat atthe College, more than one in four resulted in a top grade of A*-B, placing our students in a goodposition to be courted by a number of very strong HE institutions. This cohort of students have hadfewer module opportunities than previous A level students and have sometimes faced more testingcontent, as exams have undergone revisions. They have dealt well with the changing demandswhich have been placed upon them. We are also seeing more apprenticeship routes being offered tothose who would prefer to advance their career through the apprenticeship route. We welcome thesealternative pathways for our students who wish to have choices in the manner in which they taketheir futures forward. At SFX we encounter a high number of very able and independently mindedyoung people, who make the best of the opportunities given to them, and we are pleased to make asmall contribution to those futures."
