It is also Headley Theatre Club's Diamond Jubilee So we give you our Salute to the 1960s
Everyone's Gone to the Moon
Directed by Dil Williamson-Smith and Jo Smith
13th & 14th July, 2012 8.00 pm in Headley Village Hall
Programme
Bit about club etc Headley Theatre Club “grew” out of a pageant presented in the village in 1952 to mark the accession to the throne of Queen Elizabeth II
So we too are 60 years old and this is our diamond jubilee
We thought that we would mark it in some way – so we decided to revive a show that we first presented in the summer of 1989 – “Everyones Gone to the Moon” a celebration of the 1960s –
It’s our 60th year ; a lot of us remember the 60s VERY WELL and quite a few who took part in the original show are still active club members - so with a few imports from Kent and Surbiton including Dave and Sarah Horne who were the instigators of the first presentation in 1989 and responsible for most of the music choicesp; and some new members who were, on the other hand, a little bewildered by the choice of music! – we give you a second chance to enjoy “Everyones Gone to the Moon!” At the end of this programme are some words – please feel free to join in on these songs and – at the rear of the hall is a small dance area……!

Forthcoming Productions - 2012 and 2013
2012
12th/13th October — Calendar Girls — why join the WI when you can see it all here? We
will be doing three performances including a matinee on the 13th October, with a WI Tea
included in the price!!
Look out for our very own Calendar, going on sale at the end of August. We will be
making a Donation to Leukaemia Research from the proceeds of the show and
calendar sales.
Since opening at Chichester Festival Theatre in September 2008 CALENDAR GIRLS has
been an unprecedented success playing over one hundred sell out weeks across the country
as well as a year’s run in London’s glittering West End. It has become the most successful
play to ever tour the UK, grossing more at the box office than the original film.
Now the show’s producers David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers want to break into the Guinness
book of records and establish the record for the most productions of one play in one year
and so it’s our turn…for the very first time, the amateur rights for CALENDAR GIRLS will
be released for just 12 months from 1 September 2012 – 31 August 2013. Ladies
everywhere have been asked to follow in the footsteps of the many actresses who have
already appeared in the show to disrobe and become their very own Calendar Girl!
