Greetings First Baptist Family,

Thank you to all of you who have participated in our spiritual gifts study on Sunday evenings. I hope it has been personally helpful and that it will be corporately beneficial for us as a church. If you missed out on any of this series, you can come for the wrap up this Sunday night to get the highlights. It is important that each church member be active with the gift the Lord has given them. If you have not taken the spiritual gift inventory posted on our church website, please visit fbcwinn.com and click on the box titled Spiritual Gifts. This survey will assist you in discovering the unique gift that the Lord has placed in you. It will also help our church staff and leadership as we look for individuals who are well suited to specific ministry areas.

One of the ministries that I am excited to see grow over this next school year is the Sunday School ministry of FBC. We have so many dedicated teachers and leaders in this critical area of our church. However, there is always room for improvement and inspection. We inspect what we do because we want to do it with excellence. We strive for excellence because we realize that everything we do should be done as if we were doing it directly for the Lord (Col. 3:23 & Eph. 6:7). Therefore, I urge you if you are involved at ANY LEVEL of our Sunday School leadership (or are considering Sunday School Leadership), to attend the EMPOWERED Sunday School Conference highlighted on the front of the Evangel. It will be an excellent opportunity to gain fresh perspectives and form new strategies for growth.

Let me leave you with my memory verse this week. I hope as you dwell on this verse that it will serve as a reminder of how the Lord has purpose in your path.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.- Ephesians 2:10
