2. Front Page 3. Front PageFor my front cover I decided to have plain background to keep the audiences attention on my model like most magazines do. My main image is a medium close up of my model. My model is wearing a dark pink top and denim waistcoat which reflects my target audience which are mainly females. I have decided to slightly curl my models hair because I think curly hair is a very feminine look and also I think it is a popular stereotype for the genre of my music magazine according to my research. She is looking directly at the camera with her sunglasses lowered as this suggests confidence and dominance. For the layout of my magazine, my masthead is written across the top of my magazine like most magazines to make it recognisable from other brands. I used the font Script Brush One Direction which I have taken from the website dafont. I decided to have my masthead in dark pink as I think it reflects my target audience and also it makes it stand out from the rest of my front cover. I have also included a stroke and drop shadow on my masthead to make it stand out from the rest of the cover and make it eye catching and recognisable.I decided to place most of my sell lines on the left hand side just like billboard to keep it lookingsimple and neat. However I have placed one of my sell lines on the right hand side to fill theempty space and keep my magazine looking as professional as possible. I also added a circularbanner to one of my sell lines, again just like Billboard, to make it stand out and show variety. Ihave used the colours black, pink and red to make the sell lines stand out from the plainbackground and my model. For my main sell line I have decided to place it on the middle with astoke and a drop shadow to make it eye catching as it is the biggest in size apart from themasthead. It is also in the same font as my masthead to keep consistency through out the frontpage. I have included a skyline banner as most professional magazines do. My skyline banneris advertising free 4 tickets to the Hackney Weekend 2012. I have done this to make myaudience interested and make them want to read on more. I also decided to place the bar code, issue number and price on the bottom right hand side as most music magazines do. 4. Contents Page 5. Contents PageCFor my Contents Page I have decided to use three photographs instead of my main idea of having only one main image. The main image is the biggest as she features on my front page and she will be the main article of my music magazine and the other two images are smaller as they are a double page spread article. All three images have the page number on them to make it easier for the audience to find where they are in the magazine and also they include a little bit of text to inform the audience of who they are and what the article will be about. I have included strokes on the captions in my images to make them stand out and easier to read.I have decided to place the column titles over a pink banner to make them stand out and also to have a house style that is consistent through out the magazine. The titles are written in the same font as my masthead and they are in black with white outline to make them eye catching. The page numbers are bold and italic and they are bigger to make them stand out and make it easier for the audience to locate the article they want in the magazine. I have decided to have two columns instead of the four that I originally intended as it was too crowded and there wont be a good balance between images and text that I tried to maintain. So instead I have decided to have a column for the features and a column of the latest top 10 songs in the Official Charts. The text is in black and pink, and I have done it in an alternative manner to make it stand out and easier to read.Like most magazines, I have included a subscription box in yellow to make it stand out and thisinforms the readers about subscribing to the magazine.I have also included a logo on the top right hand corner to make my product as professional aspossible. 6. Double Page Spread 7. Double Page SpreadFor my double page spread, I have stuck with my original idea of setting out my interview in a question and answer format as I think it will be more casual and easier to read. The answers are written in first person to make it seem like that artist is personally answering their question which will make it feel casual and friendly. The questions are in pink and the answers from the artist are in black to make it easier for the audience to read the article. There is also an introducing paragraph at the beginning of the article to summarise the article. The title of my article is a pull out quote from the article itself, also by using a quote from the article it makes the audience want to read on. I have put my title at an angle to make it more appealing to the audience. To break up the article, I have included a quote inset in the middle of my article. It is written in bold to make it stand out more. By doing this it also makes the reader want to read the article more to find out where the quote is from.I have included 4 more images of my model at the bottom of my article to make the page moreinteresting and appealing to my audienceThe main image is place on the right hand page with a pull out quote, again to make the reader want to read on. The text on the left page is white with a black stroke and and it is in an angle to make it stand out.Lastly, I have included minor details such as a logo on the right hand corner to make it look asprofessional as possible. 8. What My Audience Wanted...From the primary audience research I did in the the initial stages of my research I found that my audience wanted;A simple and neat layout to keep it looking professional and not over crowdedTo use a colour palette that complement each other but still make it stand out from the rest of the magazine. To use a theme and keep it consistent through out the front cover, contents page and double page spread. For the double page spread, the title should be bond to make the audience want to read on, and to make sure that the article text is big enough to read. 9.
