Poster

In my poster, I have chosen not to show my protagonists face. The reason forthis is because I was trying to bring a different feel to the image. I wanted myaudience to question who the protagonist is. However, I have shown the main themeand issues of my film in my poster. You can clearly see the theme and issues ofteenage pregnancy.

From looking at my poster we understand that my film is targeted at a nicheaudience. Also, the natural location and low/middle class is showing a natural way ofmaking a film rather than the more fabricated Hollywood posters. Also from thetype of setting that the poster is set out shows that this film is targeting thegenre of social realism.

The poster reflectsthe themes and issues ofmy film as you can seethe girl holding apregnancy test. This getsstraight to the main theme ofmy film, as when you seethe poster you knowstraight away that it hassomething to do with teenagepregnancy. Also, the low keylighting represents a dull lifeas the poster showsquite dark elements.

Poster

The poster representsthe style of the film quiteeffectively as you can see thatthe main character of myfilm is a teenage girl. Also, within the poster you canspot the main theme of myfilm. You can see theisolation and vulnerability ofthe protagonist as she isenclosed in a tight spacecrowded by walls, this showsthe issue of imprisonment.

Poster

The poster informs my audience about the film by showing the maincharacter looking at a pregnancy test. This suggests that the film has gotsomething to do with pregnancy involved. The poster also has reviews, star ratingand also the tag line.

My poster promoted my short film quite effectively as the low key lightingthat is used in the photograph of my poster is representing the dark tone inmy film. The small space that the main character is sitting in showsimprisonment. This shows that she is trapped and isolated from her life.

Main Task

Key thematic elements are very common in the mainand ancillary task. The effects of teenage pregnancy isshown in the poster and the film. This is shown in the posterby the young girl sitting on the toilet in her schooluniform holding a pregnancy test. Also, my film and posterboth use low key lighting which represents the dullness ofher life.

The poster and short filmboth show isolation andvenerability of the girl as she is isolatedin a small space, with wallssurrounded around her like she isimprisoned. The magazine review alsotells us that she is alone in thesituation without any help from hermum or family.

The effects of abuse is being shown in the film bythe mum as she is not looking after herself. In this shotwe can see that drug abuse and alcoholism is beingportrayed. Also, the effects of abuse is being portrayed by howthe mum talks to her daughter. She doesn’t show anyinterest in her daughter and the wide shots of Lily and hermum shows the distance between them.

Main Task

Both ancillary tasks convey the same meaning and message as the film.In the poster you can see the issue of depression and isolation of how thegirl is positioned in the image. The girl looks imprisoned and trapped by thesmall area she is sitting in and the walls surrounding her. In my magazinereview the narrative used shows the depression of the girl, not knowing what todo and that she is alone in the situation.

My ancillary tasks impact on my main product because my magazinereview gives background information about the film in detail. Also, the posterdisplays the theme of teenage pregnancy, you can see this by the young girl in herschool uniform which shows that the girl is still a teenager. The girl is holding apregnancy test which conveys that there is something wrong to do with pregnancy.

Main Task

The film review and poster bothreference one another to introduce extra layersof my film to show the isolation of theprotagonist. They also both reveal the themes andissues within my film. You can see this by thenarrative that is used in my review which showsbackground information about my main character. Also, you can see this by the elements usedwithin my poster of the low key lighting. Thefilm review unpacks the film, this thendeepens our meaning and understanding ofwhat the film consists.

Main Task

Both ancillary tasks are a clear reflection of my main product because ofthe low key lighting that is used throughout the film is also used on thephotograph of the image on my poster. Also, the language i have used within my filmreview reflects on the themes and issues that are used in both my short film andfilm poster.

Magazine Review

However, at the bottom of mymagazine review i have placed my filmsynopsis in the corner. The reason for this isbecause it shares a small section of whatmy film involves. This also tells theaudience more what my film is about.

The way my magazine review informs my audience about my film is that itshows the themes and issue of teenage pregnancy. My magazine review alsoshows character bio, along with the main story points.

In my opinion, i think that my film reviewcould be classed as biased however It is not thatbiased. The reason why this may be is because it isa difficult task to do when writing your ownreview on your own film. This is why you have tomake sure that your film review has an unbiasedevaluation on the film.

Magazine Review

From reading the magazinereview we learn and understand that thegenre of social realism is beingrepresented. The certain terms and intellectualcontexts connotes the genre and level offilm making. Through my magazinereview you can see that my film istargeted at an age range of teenager, youcan see this by the type of charactersthat have been used and the certainages that they are.

My review breaks down and articulates the themes and issues that thechief concern of my film quite effectively as the opening paragraph shows thetheme and issue of teenage pregnancy straight away. Also, the picture that isadded within my film review shows the issues of teenage pregnancy as the younggirl is in her uniform sitting down holding a pregnancy test. This shows theissue of depression and isolation. This also shows that the young girl is veryvulnerable.
