The audience for our media project will be a mature audience because the audience will need to be able to understand and follow the opening’s contextual information, such as the virus ruining the Earth (This is not directly said in the opening but implied). Also, we researched and found out that the average post – apocalyptic film is rating “15 +” or over, this is because of the genre’s content which is generally aimed towards adults. Our film opening suits this trend.

From our research we found that a common post apocalyptic audience is males 18+. Our film suits this because it is a story involving a lonely man in a complex scenario that younger audiences would find difficult to follow. Stereotypically, we found men take more interest in films involving lonely protagonists or films with action etc. This emulates our film and its narrative. Our film would also appeal to People who understand English because the film is filmed in England and content is English.Fortunately for us, English is one of, if not the most spoken language on the planet, therefore are audience will be quite broad.

Our final product attracted its audience because it was somewhat stereotypical to the post apocalyptic genre. The use of dark, abandoned locations and the use of sad music made it obvious that the film was going to resemble a post apocalyptic film. This attracted the stereotypical post-apocalyptic audience we had previously researched, which is also the audience for our product.
