How did you attract/address your audience?

QUESTION 5

Target audience review

• My primary audience are female, aged between 16-24 mostly. Who live comfortable student lifestyles with the ability to have fun and peruse activities on a daily basis, whom appreciate modern sophisticated up-to-date chart magazines. This means when going through the production stage of my magazine I had to follow everything I had take everything I had found out about my primary target audience into consideration. I had to convey certain messages, represent certain lifestyles but also impress the audience.

Colour

• When experimenting with colours, at first I did not know which colour scheme I was going to go for, which in theory meant I had a good range of choices I could use for my final product. Firstly I was going to go with Black, White and Blue colour scheme, I did this because I if I was to use a more girly colour like pink , this would mainly only attract female attention but by me using blue it would also attract male attention which I was very open to. I also experimented with green blue and yellow, to introduce a new feel of colours which would suit my primary target audience as they are the most important thing during my production. My final experiment and the one I decided to go with in the end was a Black, White and Red colour scheme, this was the most sophisticated and mature looking colour scheme and I thought this was the perfect look I needed to go for, for one to ensure my target where 100% always happy with my choice, but secondly to make my final product look as professional as possible.

Language and Tone

• Because of the age of my target audience, I am able to include language that will suit their age rage, I will be able to include language like sarcasm and humor, which will continue to draw them in as readers. Which means they will pick out the personality I try to show in the text instead of using bland text which I believe my target audience may find boring. But in case of any older audience I have interpreted some of the blunt language to stay safe with the whole concept of the language.I used a lot of puns and bold language to ensure my target audience where drawn to certain articles more than others, I believe this also makes my magazine look a lot more professional and allows my secondary audience to intake imitate feel of my magazine and what t is all about.

Genre Conventions

• Colour• Expressions• Brand identity• Props• Outfits• Background of images

This is a list of the most important elements which are included in my production which would be the proof that my magazine represents all elements of a top charts music magazine. For example my colour scheme which is Red, White and Black represents modern music, wealth and fun! The expressions of my images show professional seriousness along with the feature of happiness and fun. My props and outfits show that my modern feature is taken very

seriously. My models are dressed perfectly to suit the genre of my magazine, tight black dress shows flirtatious behavior but the length of the dress keeps that sophisticated feel. The background of my images is non existent, I believe a background would wash my model and her outfit out, this is why I decided to use Photoshop to ensure there was no background, only the focus of my model.

Types of imagery

• During my production of my magazine I used a range of different angels, shots and effects when taking the images I was going to use in my final magazine.

This angle and shot I like because I believe it can overlap in 2 different shots because even though it is a close up, a mid shot could also be shown as the image still shows the top

This shot is a long shot, It shows my model from head to nearly her feet, it is showing a more serious face which invites you to find out her emotion and story. By using this type of shot it is showing the different between the 2, this being more professional and model like.

half of my models body. This image is showing the more humor side of things with the model smiling, I also used a 3rd image effect which I believe my target audience will love, I have experimented with images and succeeded.
