VARIATIONS IN EUROPE

Throughout Europe, construction costs are constantly in a

state of flux. The price of materials rises and falls under the

influence of local and international economic factors, while

transport costs, handling costs and labour costs also vary

from one country to the next.

RLB Euro Alliance has created a comprehensive European

construction cost index. In addition, we’ve used our own cost

data to generate regional cost indices for selected European

countries.

Our construction cost indices are updated regularly, ensuring

availability of current, up-to-date information.

The chart overleaf sets out the key cost differences across

Europe

On the following pages we present an outline of cost for

various building types by country. The figures presented

include construction costs associated with shell and core,

fitout, preliminaries and a nominal allowance for external

works. These figures exclude allowances for professional fees

and local applicable taxes. All cost data is shown in Euro.
