WHAT IS EATMA? EATMA stands for European Air Traffic Management Architecture and it is the common architecture framework for SESAR 2020. It is the sole means of integrating the ATM operational and technical content developments produced by SESAR 2020 Projects in a consistent and coherent way. WHY IS EATMA NEEDED? EATMA is needed to put the changes in ATM into a holistic, multi-perspective and integrated picture. That picture provides a common reference for developing further solutions. It also feeds the European Master Plan with new proposals for changes. By building on EATMA, the ATM Master Plan and the European ATM Architecture become a single entity. At the end of SESAR 2020 Wave 1, EATMA will support decision-making on deployments by highlighting possible deployment options and enumerating their benefits. Together with the ATM Master Plan, EATMA helps give SESAR Partners One Plan and One Framework, providing One View of future ATM, both on the European and the international scene.
