Cernusco sul Naviglio is a town and comune in the metropolitan City of Milano, Lombardy, northwestern Italy, with a population of 33,436 as of 2015 it is the 14th-largest municipality in the metropolitan city.The municipality of Cernusco sul Naviglio has a total area of 13.33 km2 (5 square miles) with a median altitude of 133 metres above sea level.It is located 11 kilometres northeast of Milan along the Naviglio dellaMartesana, which gives the town its name.The Naviglio della Martesana, an artificial canal built in the 15th century in order to link the Adda river to the city of Milan, is the only significant waterway in the municipality.There are many sport facilities in Cernusco, which let people playing many sports: the most popular are basketball, football, american football, hockey, rugby, baseball, gymnastics, swimming, volleyball, twirling and cycling. These richness and variety have leaded the city to the bid for the title of European City of Sport in 2020.In the municipality there are also two stations on Line 2 of the Milan Metro, Cernusco sul Naviglio near the city centre and Villa Fiorita in the eastern part, serving the main industrial area.

GENERAL CONCEPT TeamSport

Teamsport is a sport association born on February 2017, with three different sport sections: Hockey, ParaHockey and Women Football.Its mission is to promote sport activity for disable people, with the final purpose of create a paralimpic hockey team and develop moments of social integration trough the sport.The core activity is the growth of junior teams (from 5 to 16 years old) of both hockey and football.Teamsport has a senior women hockey team, which takes part in the Serie A2 Female Championship, three junior team (Under8, under10 and Under 12), and a senior women football team.Furthermore, it organizes Sport Events, Tournaments and summer sport activities for 6-16 years old teens.

The vision of the association is working to promote sport and its values, like a group of people that embraces each other.

CULTURAL PROGRAMMES

Milan is one of the most beautiful and interesting Italian cities. The city hosts the famous Leonardo’s masterpiece Last Supper as well as many monuments as Duomo, La Scala, The Castle, Santa Maria and St. Ambrogio churches, Navigli the Leonardo’s canals, many Art Museums like Brera and Ambrosiana as well as the San Siro Stadium. Most of the above mentioned are free of charges.

We do not have to mention the La Scala theater to remind that Milan is the national cultural capital and one of the most interesting European cities. If Piazza Duomo is the historic heart of Milan, Piazza Gae Aulentirepresents the new face of the city, the symbol of a metropolis that is changing and looking ahead to the future.

A cultural programme will be dedicated to the athletes, officials and supporters. An agreement with the city sightseeing bus company will be reached to provide free or discounted tickets.
