EU ADVOCACY FOR A CIRCULAR ECONOMY

Ecopreneur, the European Sustainable Business Federation, and its Dutch member MVO Nederland are advocating strong policy measures to accelerate and mainstream the circular economy in Europe. Representing over 3000 sustainable SMEs throughout Europe, our circular economy work is furthermore supported by pioneer companies Tarkett (France), ROCKWOOL (Denmark), Werner & Mertz (Germany), REMONDIS (Germany) and Interface (Netherlands).

Ecopreneur is the only cross-sectoral business association advocating ambitious implementation of circular economy policies to achieve systemic change at the EU level, within member states and in conjunction with the more than 50% of new legislation proposals coming from the EU. This includes creating circular hubs across Europe, training on integrating circularity in procurement, economic incentives for producers and consumers favouring circular products and services, and minimum requirements for resource efficiency for all end products and services.

As a member of the coordination group of European Commission / EESC Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform we have growing visibility in Brussels; the origin of approximately 30% of all EU rules and regulations. Many of our policy recommendations were already adopted. Now it comes to implementation. More information about our work on the circular economy can be found here.
