A student must satisfy the following
conditions:
• Minimum CGPA of 4.0
• No “I” grade in any course
• Not more than 4 ‘D’s and 2 ‘F’s (or) 1 ‘F’ and 2 ‘D’s
Of total 20 sessions, if a student is absent for 4
– 5 classes, then the grade he or she has
obtained will be reduced by one letter.
(Example: A- to B-)
If he or she is absent for 6-8 classes, grade will
be reduced by two letters.
Grading system
Course Load • Students at MDI take a minimum of 12 and a
maximum of 18 credits per term. • Courses are usually 3 credits each but can be 1.5
credits as well. • One credit implies 10 contact hours of work in the
classroom. • The parent school determines the number of credit
hours taken by exchange students. Usually, exchange
students take 4-5 three-credit courses. • International students can opt for courses from the
PGPM and PGHR programmes offered by MDI. • The medium of instruction for all courses is English. • Course registration is done a day prior to
commencement of classes and exchange students
have flexibility to change a course within one week of
registration

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE
We are the student arm of the International Relations Office(IRO) that supports and coordinates all activities of international students at MDI. IRC facilitates the Incoming Exchange Programme of MDI. They take up activities such as the Buddy Programme, wherein International students on exchange to MDI are allocated MDI students as their buddies. Buddy Programme is undertaken to ensure smooth transition of International students to MDI and make their academics and stay in MDI worthwhile. for International students IRC team host cultural nights, movie nights and trips to historical and popular places full of Indian culture and heritage.

Housing (Hostel Accommodation) The PGPM program at MDI is fully residential. Apart from being convenient, living on the campus
will facilitate easy interaction with the regular MBA students who are all required to stay at the
hostel. The housing facility provided at the students’ hostel is done on a payment basis. The
bathroom and toilet facilities are cleaned every day and every bathroom has a hot water facility.
The housing will be on a double occupancy basis. Prior registration for the rooms is not required.
Room charges are 14,000 INR per month (inclusive of air conditioning)
Note: The guidelines related to quarantine period and COVID-19 shall be communicated to
students in due course of time.
Common Room
For the benefit of exchange students, there is a common room provided and is equipped with
facilities like a kitchenette, television, satellite TV, a computer and a refrigerator.
Food The student hostel has a mess where meals are provided at a nominal rate. The student mess takes
good care of most of your needs with the usual breakfast/lunch/dinner. In addition, there are 3
canteens on campus where tea, coffee, soft drinks, packaged juice, noodles, Cheese and butter
toasts, etc are served. The night canteens remain open till 4am in the morning. Mess charges are
average 4000-5000 INR.
Water You may use Packaged Drinking Water during your first few days in India. Purified water is available
at Water Coolers/Water Filters at MDI. Be careful about not drinking water from the taps as it is not
fit for consumption.

Laundry
Rohit Laundry Service is a mechanized laundry facility whereby students can get their clothes washed
and ironed at nominal rates.
Computers All hostel rooms are wired up and allow access to the Internet/Intranet through the MDI network.
However, students have to make arrangements for their own computer. You may bring along a
laptop from your home country. However, when you bring your laptop along, please declare it at
Customs when entering the country. To get logged onto the network, please contact the Computer
Center Helpdesk. Your buddy will help you with this. Students can also use the Computer Center,
which is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 AM in Lakshya Building and contains more than 100 terminals.
Text Books
Textbooks and other study material for all courses will be provided by MDI at the time of registration
(a nominal amount will be charged for the books).
Banks
MDI has an ATM on campus which is compatible with all International ATM cards
Hospital A doctor is available till 4:00 PM inside the campus. A number of hospitals are located near the MDI
campus. Few of them are located in the Sector 14 residential colony which is a short distance from
the campus.
Vaccination
Kindly consult your local physician and ensure that you are adequately vaccinated
Weather The climate is generally warm with moderate rainfall in September and October. It starts getting cold
in November and you may require heavy woollens in December to February.

Registration requirements at FRRO • Exchange students are required to register themselves at the Local Foreign Registration
Office within a week of their arrival. • An appointment for the same can be taken by online registering themselves (link given
above) and taking a letter from International Relations Office for SHO. • Students who are staying in India for a period of less than 180 days are not required to
register themselves at the FRRO. • However, if your visa stamp requires you to get you registered at the FRRO, you must do
so.

Incoming Exchange Student Registration Process Flow
For Registration as incoming exchange student following step to follow: Step 1: MDI,IRO office receiving the nominations from the Partner Institute/ University. Step 2: Nominated students need to fill the MDI Exchange Registration form Step 3: MDI, IRO office will issue the Acceptance and Visa Letters to nominated students Step 4: After Arrival student need to register to FRRO office through IRO Dept. Step 5: Hostel Registration by the exchange students. Step 6: Course Registration in Graduate Program Office before commencement of the term
