Write an essay outlining ways in which famine could be reduced.

The battle against world famine has been a standpoint in society for as long as wecan remember. Alongside the technological revolution, a great number of associations are

striving to raise awareness to the way in which malnourishment affects countries such as

Somalia where famine is a milder way of referring to poverty. There are many ways inwhich we can contribute to its reduction as long as we seek to get involved.

First of all, the government must invest in agricultural growth. Smallholder

farmers production increases as long as institutions contribute to the development ofagricultural mechanisms. Admittedly, poor people depend upon the mass production of

goods, seeing as how lower food prices help them to remain on an average level of

subsistence. Furthermore, by offering support to the agricultural sector, governments

export more high quality goods leading to a visible increase in the economy of a country;which is a desired effect for both parties.

However, such method isnt accountable for the African villages whose only

existing concern is to bring bread on the table. Thus a wide-range food shortage cannot

be quenched only by lowering prices. In this case, social protection is crucial foreliminating hunger as rapidly as possible. Since in many African countries, citizens have

to cope with the destructions caused by natural hazards whose effects tend to bedisastrous. Hence, social care is required in order to combat hunger as well as poverty.

Social protection increases the likelihood that more poor countries will have a chance for

    survival.

On the other hand, citizens from developed countries can contribute withdonations to grassroots organizations fighting against malnutrition. From a social point of

view, television and radio stations are a rapid method of raising wide-spread awareness

on behalf of the people who are in dire need of food supplies. For instance, citizens helpis associated with a higher level of altruism and tolerance; Tools that civilized societies

need in order to evolve. Furthermore, instead of neglecting the vast amounts of foodwhich is thrown away annually, citizens could reduce the waste in food chains by beingmore attentive to the quantity of food they spend their money on. Others might depend

upon those small bits of food.

All in all, the anatomy of famine is a direct cause of negligence and vulnerabilityis the face of natural hazards, thus intensive government support and donations are the

measurements I propose in order to reduce its effects.
