    What Is in This Chapter

    This chapter int roduces the S P EC TRU M Ma na gement Module for t he

    Ericsson Consono MD110 PBX. It describes the following:

    MD110

    The intelligent MD110 functions as a high-capacity digital voice-data PBX,

    carry ing digita l voice, dat a, an d video tra nsparent ly throughout the same

    netw orked syst em. The netw ork can consist of on-premise ha rd-wired,

    w ireless nodes, or wide a rea netw orked links. The MD110 opera tes in a

    coherent single system mode and offers customizable capabilities.

    The NT-ba sed MD110 allows fu ll comput er telephony inter netw orking w ith

    computer-supported t elephony syst ems. The MD 110 cont a ins L IMs (Line

    Int erface Modules) tha t can be distributed throughout a site, an d is ma na gedfrom a t erminal using t he MD110 proprieta ry int erface.

    Er icssons SNMP Agent serves as a n interfa ce between the MD110 an d a TCP /

    IP LAN. This a gent populates t he agent mib by int errogating t he MD110 over

    th e proprieta ry int erfa ce. Connection to the TCP /IP netw ork ca n exist via

    Et hernet , V.24, or Token R ing. The S NMP Agent can exist a s a sta nd-a lone

    unit for a single MD110, or in a chassis package including up to eight agents.

    SPECTRUM Support

    The Er i csson Consono MD 110 PBX M an agem en t Modu le Gu id e provides

    informa tion necessary t o mana ge the MD110 with E ricssons SNMP agent a nd

    the Management Information Bases (MIBs) included with the management

    module.

    A SP EC TRU M Mana gement Module is a softwa re emulat ion of a physical

    device or a pplica tion (represented by icons in t he user interfa ce.) These icons

    provide status at a glance through the use of a color code, and access to

    in-depth information on the devices configuration and operating activity.

    The model type na me refers to th e models used to specify a tt ribut es, a ctions,

    an d a ssociat ions for t he device in S P EC TRU M. The MD110 Mana gement

    Module support s one model type, MD110_P B X. Refer t o the

    Accessing SPECTRUM Views from the Device Icon

    The Device icon provides access to SPECTRUM views that display

    device-specifi c informa tion. Access S P EC TRU M view s us ing double-click

    zones (Figu re 1-1) an d Icon Subview s menus (Figu re 1-2).
