My presentation as part of the Breakfast Seminar "Cloud Computing Opportunities in the Netherlands" held at the Dutch Foreign Consulate on January 25th, 2013. Speakers included the Vice Mayor of Amsterdam, Carolien Gehrels, and representatives form the Dutch Foreign Embassy, Ernst & Young and Equinix. This seminar focused on business and tax (US, Netherlands and EU VAT) considerations with cloud computing in and through the Netherlands. The goal was to help Finance, Tax and Business development professionals understand how your company can benefit from having a virtual and / or physical presence in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

European Networks, The Way to Go

• Traditional Carriers– Wide variety of different carriers allow great choice– You will allways need carriers, we help select the right ones– Strong routing to various destinations e.g. Russia and Middle-

East

• Internet Exchanges– Select Internet Exchanges for cheap, redundant and low-latency

performance– Exchanges are the way to go due to different countries and

numberous networks. E.g. AMS-IX 500+ networks– EU Internet Exchanges are still (a lot) cheaper than transit. E.g.

AMS-IX is €1500 for 10Gbit flat fee

• Local Content– Onsite connectivity with Facebook, Syniverse, Akamai, Yandex,

Appnexus, etc...
