AWARDS The Town of Canora received a Saskatchewan Municipal Award in 2008 for Environmental Stewardship. The award resulted from the Town's source water protection project to preserve the community's quality water supply. The undertaking, for which the Town partnered with Ducks Unlimited, saw many acres of former farm land restored to its natural state. Saskatchewan wild flowers flourish along the edges of this beautiful trail as it winds through Canora's natural landscape. The Town has planted 1200 trees and shrubs comprising of 13 species over the last 3 years with future plans to continue planting. Walk, run, bike, or ski this great trail, that connects with the Trans Canada trail and the Urban Habitat trail. Urban Habitat Trail Connecting with the walking trail (see town map), the Urban Habitat Trail was created by the River Ridge Wildlife Club and formed in-cooperation with the town of Canora, Ducks Unlimited Canada and the PFRA. This trail is an educational and interpretive green space located on the northeast side of town along Whitesand Drive. The project consists of a walking path, foot bridge, several native tree species as well as twelve interpretive stops along the trail each highlighting a different aspect of habitat, wildlife & plant species and their importance to us and our environment. • Wedding Registry. Trans Canada TrailWhile in Canora, enjoy our section of the Trans Canada Trail. Walk or bike

_ the trail and enjoy beautiful scenery, friendly people and a relaxing atmosphere.Follow the trail West out to beautiful Canora Beach, Burgis Beach and GoodSpirit Lake Provincial Park. If you choose to go East, you will find yourself atVeregin and the National Doukhobour Heritage Village and then on to Kamsackand Duck Mountain Provincial Park.

A modern five-hundred seat artificialice facility, the Civic Centre offers botha heated lobby and bleachers. Duringthe skating season, from October toMarch, the rink qffers free public skatingand shinny, as well as birthday party and private rental rates. The Civic Centre isavailable to rent during the off-season and is suitable for trade shows, weddingsand other special events. Contact Leisure Services at 563-6561 for rental inquiries.

Sylvia Fedoruk CentreLocation: 701 Main Street563-4290

The Canora Community Curling Club operates the four-sheet rink fromOctober to April. The rink concession is located in the main-floor lobby and alounge upstairs provides a great view of the ice surface. The Centre doubles asa community hall for functions, and is available to rent for special events. ContactLeisure Services at 563-6561 for rental inquiries.

Canora Activity CentreLocation: 333 Canora Avenue563-4104 or 563-6561

The Canora Activity Centre shares the building with the Canora golf courseclub house. It has one large updated banquet room with a capacity for 80 people,updated washrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. For rental inquiries during thewinter months please contact Leisure Services at 563-6561; during the summermonths contact the golf course at 563-4104.
