https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06nks6xIn life, we often have to make choices. We may not make the right choice, but we can learn from our experiences and the next time we have to make a choice, we might get it right. When have you had to use your experience?

ScienceWednesday’s English activity is to produce a fact file on the Hump Backed Whale. Maybe, you could choose another creature from the book and produce a fact file on them. Where do they live? What do they eat? How long do they live?Scientists love to sort and group the things they are studying. Using the animal cards attached to the blog post, (you can either print these, or draw your own cards) can you find different ways to sort the animals into different groups. You might want to use their proper animal groups, for example, mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians or you might want to make your own criteria for example, how many legs, if they have wings, colour, habitat or any others

GeographyFind out the names of the five oceans. Label a world map with the five oceans.Find out what makes each of them special, then draw a picture of what you have found out or tell an adult. Each Ocean has different creatures living in it, due to the temperature of the ocean, the under-currents and tides, etc. E.G. My favourite is the largest mammal that lives in the Atlantic Ocean, the Humpback Whale.https://www.twinkl.co.uk/resource/t-g-272-the-five-oceans-labelling-map-activity-sheet

Physical Education, Please see separate information about sports day activities.

PHSE/SMSC: Even though the snail is small, he helps to save the whale. Think about your abilities. Is there anything that you thought you couldn't do, but you managed to when you tried?

In class we are going to be finding out about Finlay Pringle who is a young boy from Scotland and is passionate about marine life – especially sharks as well as helping the environment. There are 3 videos available on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQnUUYxK41Q which include tips about what you can do to help the planet. Can you make a poster with one or more of these suggestions or maybe you would like to make a pledge about what you can do personally to help our planet.
