• Start revising now

• We can write example paragraphs/create an outline together as a class

INTRODUCTION• What do we need in an introduction paragraph for the 2.2?

• Hook – grab reader’s attention

• Shocking statistics?

• Thesis statement• State the problem

• Why this problem should be fixed

• Background information

• Credibility (if you have any)

• Narrow the focus

• Discuss what you’re NOT going to cover

• Preview of what youre going to talk about

• Facts about topic (general)

• Subtopics – the points you’re going to make

BODY PARAGRAPHS• What do we need in the body paragraphs FOR our argument?

• Topic sentence

• State the main point of the paragraph
