Recently Completed Projects EUGENE KRANZ JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL Dickinson ISD recently completed construction of its newest campus, Kranz Junior High School, which opened to students for the 2018/2019 school year. Named after NASA flight director Eugene Kranz, the campus is equipped with LEDs, high-efficiency air-cooled chillers and other energy-saving features. The emphasis on energy-efficient design complements the NASA theme that is present throughout the campus, including a miniature version of the Space Shuttle Endeavour. In total, the energy-efficient HVAC and lighting design strategies will help the district save over 750,500 kWh annually . TRUE CROSS CATHOLIC SCHOOL The True Cross Catholic School in Dickinson, Texas recently completed a campus-wide interior lighting retrofit to LEDs. Following severe flooding from Hurricane Harvey, the campus was forced to undergo major interior renovation to get the facility back up and running. New floors, walls and electrical infrastructure were all required, giving the campus an excellent opportunity to replace aged fluorescent lighting with new LED fixtures. The lighting measure alone is estimated to save the school over 98 MWh annually. GLEN ROSE ISD Following last year’s exterior LED retrofits, this year Glen Rose ISD focused on upgrading the district’s interior lighting. The brighter, more welcoming LEDs have lowered the schools’ energy costs while helping to boost productivity and focus in the classroom. To help cover the cost of the upgrades, TNMP awarded the district with $28,629 in incentives. MARY KAY INC. In partnership with TNMP, Mary Kay Inc recently presented a $50,000 check to Denton County Friends of the Family , the county’s only shelter and outreach provider for those impacted by domestic violence and sexual abuse. The presentation came during the grand opening of their Lewisville- based manufacturing and research and development facility, which received over $40,000 in TNMP incentives for high-efficiency LEDs and HVAC equipment. Technology Spotlight: LED Tubes

Starting in 2019, TNMP will again be incentivizing type B and C LED tubes for Commercial Solutions and SCORE®/CitySmart® customers. Type A, which uses the existing ballast, will not be eligible for incentive. As always, LEDs must be currently listed on either the DLC® or ENERGY STAR® website to be eligible for an incentive.

TNMP offers a portfolio of commercial energy efficiency programs.

The SCORE® Program provides viable energy optimization for school districts, colleges and universities. Designed to educate institutions on energy management and encourage investment in energy efficiency, this program helps partners minimize the impact of volatile energy costs, ease budget pressures, improve infrastructure and optimize learning environments for students.

The CitySmart® Program helps local government entities enhance energy efficiency, lower operating costs, improve air and environmental quality and meet legislative and regulatory requirements.

Similar to SCORE and CitySmart, the Commercial Solutions Program provides technical and financial support to help commercial and industrial organizations identify and implement energy efficiency upgrade projects.

The Open for Small Business Program targets commercial facilities below 150 kW in demand usage to enable them to participate in energy-saving retrofits.

For more information about the SCORE, CitySmart, Commercial Solutions and Open programs, contact TNMP Manager Stefani Case at (214) 222-4174 or [email protected].
