Project Objectives …

Specific- indicate what you intend to change through your project

Immediate - indicate the time frame during which a current problem will be addressed

Measurable - indicate what you would accept as proof of project success

Practical - indicate how each objective is a real solution to a real problem

Logical - indicate how each objective contributes to achieving your overall goals

Evaluate - indicate how much change has to occur for the project to be effective

Describes the objectives & outcomes of the grant project in measurable terms

Program objectives component is used to convince the reader that you know how much of the problem you will change or address & by when it will be changed

Read it twice before you start

Be aware of any system limitations and save your work often

eGrant applications often limit the length of your content to pre-sized space – have a file for paper grants and a file for eGrants

Beware of submission – file it 1 week early

Appealing Proposals …

Are not redundant

Employ a good format

Use good grammar

Use good punctuation

Speak directly to the reader (tense)

Have correct spelling



Use preferred fonts (at least 10-12 point Century, Times Roman

Have 1-inch margins on all sides

Are single or double-spaced (follow the guidelines)

Have numbered pages

Avoid fancy or distracting fonts

Are proof read (don’t write alone)
