Stealing in Dwellings, from the Person, &c.

Derby.—On or about the 9th November last, from the Cossack Jetty,—1 box containing P.O. Savings Bank Book, 1 full dress coat (L.C. uniform), 2 undress coats (L.C. uniform), 1 police helmet, a suit of dark tweed, pair of top boots, felt hat, 5 pairs of trousers, and sundries, the property of John Farrell, L.C.-C.I . 75.

Derhy.—On or about the 12th December last, from Mondooma Station,—12 tomahawks, 4 American axes, 1 shingle hammer, several old axe-heads, 1 Colt's revolver, ]2 table knives, 2 large and 1 small saucejjans, 4 buckets, 1 iron washing tub, 3 pannikins, 4 large billy cans, several bottles of medicine and boiled oil, a rain gauge, and sheep-dog, the property of Messrs. Poulton and Nicholls. This larceny was committed by the natives who murdered Alexander Eummer and Ah Hee. Vide Murder.—C.I. 76.

Sharks Bay.—On the 13th ult., from owner's pre­mises. Freshwater Camp,— white poodle dog with very light tan ears, and light tan spot on left side, named " Baldie," the property of Frank Smith. This dog is supposed to have been taken South per steamer.—C.I. 77.

Sharks Bay.—On the 18th ult., from the Police Dingy, at Cape Lesueur Pearling Camp,—10ft. ash oar, branded (broad arrow), the property of tbe Government.—C.I. 78.

Cossack.—On the 12th ult., from the Tramway OfSce,—black purse containing an order for ^£6 on the Director of Public Works, 3 sovereigns and some silver, the property of Bryan Fienucane. Cossack.—On the 14th ult., from the person of J. M. Wauhill, at the " Weld " Hotel,—leather pouch

Boebourne.—Between the 12th February and 1st March, 1888, from bundles in transit per team from Port Onslow to Upper Ashburton,—a quantity of Asiatic clothing and sundries, the property of Sing-hababba, Don Abraham, and Babanham, Cingalese. Boebourne.—On the Srd ult., from a hut on the Yule Eiver,— 1 billy-can and 1 pannikin, the property of Messrs. Stone and Brockman. Ab. nat. Wallie committed this larceny. Vide Apprehensions.—C.I. 82.

Bridgetown.—On or about the 24th ult., from owner's camp, near the Collie River,—10 or 12 kan­garoo hides and a bullet mould, the property of William Ward. Suspicion attaches to Thomas Larkin. - C . L 83.

Boehourne—On the 13th December last, the re­mains of a human being were found under a small snake-wood bush—the only tree on a large plain— about 60 miles West of Roebourne ; about S miles from the Government well on the Ashbur ton road. Resul t of inquiries made by P . C Guilfoyle showed t ha t the remains were very much bleached and strewn about, no trace of clothing or any other property being in the vicinity. The remains, which are supposed to be those of a Chinaman who ab­sconded from the service of Mr. Woolhi'Use 3 or 4 years ago, were buried on the spot by P.C. Guil-fovle.

Boebourne.—On the 6th December last an in­quiry was held by the Roebourne Police respecting the cause of death of Henry Simpson, a man about 45 years of age, who was employed at N a n u t a n a Stat ion, and died there on the 2'9th October last after a short illness. Resul t of enquiries proved t h a t the deceased died from natura l causes.
