I have been overwhelmed by the level of support shown by our parents and community. Over forty Mums and Dads came together last Saturday morn- ing and moved 72 tonnes of sand - and just for the record, the whole job took ex- actly two hours. Now that is some great work. Our playground was opened imme- diately to the children Monday morning. Due to its popularity and to ensure safety we have needed to rotate its use through the year levels. It will soon be all go for the junior students to use every day. A special thanks also to Capricorn Coast Sand and Soil who donated and carted the sand worth $3000 for free. Emu Park Backhoe also donated two hours of their machine and operator at no cost to us. Thank you to all involved. Attached to this newsletter is a flyer promoting the free App called Qschools. I encourage you to download this app to enable easy access to our website and notifications. Our web site and this app are now displaying gen- eral announcements. We plan to use announcements as a primary means of quickly getting information to families. Arrival times relating to excursions, significant weather events, medical alerts and information state- ments are some of the ways we plan to use our web site and the Qschools app. A reminder to all parents that electronic devices, including mobile phones, can only be bought to school if per- mission has been granted by myself and the device is left in the administration building during the day.
