Dave Noss and Russ Grove are the eciConstruction PM and Superintendent of this sixteen million dollar middle school in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Right now the foundations are being laid and the plumbing for the building is being laid out.
The photos were provided to us by Rick Shank at Quandel Construction Group, the construction manager on this job.

Verber Dentistry Renovations
Construction 7
eciConstruction
The work at Verber Dentistry is progressing. The renovations are being completed one section at a time. The lobby of the dental office (above) is mostly done, while the building’s main entryway (below) awaits elevator installation. After the elevator comes in, the front glass can be installed and the entryway finished.
The Verber Dentistry Building has come a long way. The new finishes bring out the architecture of the building, making it look less like an abandoned pile of decking material and more like a modern offfice building.

Todd Smith’s crew was doing a tower upgrade in Carlisle Springs, PA. This involves the painstaking stripping of lots and lots of cable. In this picture, Jeff Hill applies strength and leverage to the removal of the outer casing of that cable.
Once the cable is cut, the ends of the outer casing will be bent outwards to keep them from damaging the contents of the cable, a mix of copper and fiber optic wires. These wires will be taped tightly together, and then the tug of war happens as Ryan Gojich holds the cable steady and Todd strips the next section of casing from the wires.

Stealth, Harper’s Ferry, WV This stealth tower (which is pretty convincing, except for the fact that it is the only green tree in the forest) is located on the Bolivar Heights, almost exactly where the ‘you are here’ pointer is on the map. During the Civil War, Confederate forces cap-tured more than 14,000 Union soldiers here... the largest number of soldiers captured at any one time during the Civil War.

This set of Shentel antennas is going up inside the steeple of St. Peter’s, a historic building that has been standing, in one incarnation or another, since the 1800s. The images below are the stairs to the steeple where the antennas will be (left) and the crawl-space under the church where AT&T already has cellular equipment set up.

That Was Random: Dillsburg Snow.
The weather in Dillsburg was rather strange on February 19th. It started sleeting in the morning, was in a full-out blizzard by lunch, and was gone by quitting time. I took some pictures for use in future brochures... while dodging all of the cars that
were sliding out of control. The strange thing about it was just how fast it came and went... these pictures were taken around 10:30am and the streets were literally dry by 4pm.

‘Haiku, by Jesse’
Here I sit, broken heartedTried to open SAGEAnd it wouldn’t get started This makes me angryThis makes me sadThis makes me wanna do shots of Old Grandad My sanity’s been testedMy resolve is getting weakThankfully there is a new program, in the works as we speak If viewpoint isn’t any better, than this crap we call SAGEI will come to the IT DepartmentIn a terrible fit of rage. The End.
Jesse Smith works for eciConstruction.
In addition to being an athlete and gen-tleman hunter (his hunting-camp office comes complete with the severed heads of animals), Jesse is also quite the artist. He sketches and writes humorous poems, which he often sends to the IT department detailing his software woes. Below is his most recent poem; ‘Haiku, by Jesse.’
1.Describe your job in 20 words or less. I’m a Project Administrator, I pretty much take care of the administrative portions of the project, and other things & stuff. (Twenty on the nose…not counting this (&) thingy)
2. What is your favorite thing about your job? So far today? My favorite thing is, that this is only 5 questions with Derek, and not 20. :) Actually, my favorite thing is the people that I work with…great bunch of guys and gals from the office to the field, which makes it very enjoyable coming to work every day! A close second as far as a favorite thing is….my office, it’s kinda like walking into a hunting camp!
3. What are some of your hobbies? Well, when I’m not watching paint dry or taking long walks on the beach, I’ve been known to do a little archery hunting, and golf, and fish. I also like to run, not so much from anything, but for fun. A tidbit of totally useless information, I have run every day for 57 consecutive days! I’m gonna see how long I can keep the streak going for. Inspira-tion….Forest Gump.
4. What was your first pet? Can you tell us a bit about it? My first pet….a cat named Charlie girl. When we first got the little whipper, we thought it was a male, later found out it was a female, so it went from Charlie to Charlie girl.
5. In a perfect world, we would all have nicknames. What would yours be? Not sure, since JWOOW and Jay-Z are already taken, what’s really left? I’ll have to wait another 20 years, and I’ll go with “The Silver Fox” once I’m totally gray…just hoping it’s not the “Male Pattern Baldness Fox”.

24 March, 2013Nuts will be delivered.
In August of 2010 Christ Lutheran Church, Filey's in Dillsburg, was struck by lightning and the resulting fire destroyed the building. The members of the congregation immediately agreed to build a new church near the original site. Since that time they have been working with their General Contractor eciConstruction of Dillsburg to design and build the new church which will be the home for Worship for the congregation, the Learning Center at Filey's Day Care, and the Filey's Nursery School.
At this time construction is complete and they are preparing to move into the new building. However, insurance does not cover the total cost of rebuilding and they are in the process of conducting a Capital Campaign and organizing fund raisers to help with the cost of furnishing the new building.
As part of their fund raising efforts the have teamed up with the Virginia Nut Shop in New Cumberland to offer their famous Blister Peanuts, Cashews, Fancy Mixed Nuts, and Almonds.
Anyone wishing to place orders may contact a member of Christ Lutheran, Filey's or call the Church Office at:717- 432-4878. Your help and support is greatly appreciated by the members of the congregation.
