Aurora Borealis

• The Aurora Borealis is the northern lights. It is also know as the northern and southern polar lights. Buck and the team saw the lights on their way up north.

The Law of the Club and of the Fang

• The Law of the club is the man with the club is in charge.

• The Law of the fang is that if you fall, you are done.

Santa Clara Ranch

• Buck lived on the Santa Clara Ranch with Judge Miller before he was taken by the gardener and his helpers to the dog training place.

The Santa Clara Valley, also called the Silicon Valley, is where

Buck is from.

Dog Sled

• These dogs like Buck can carry many people many places over long distances. They can carry people for fun or means of transportation.

• Dawson is a mining town, Bucks team brought mail to towns like this one.

• Buck and the other dogs chased a snowshoe rabbit, like this one in the story.

Buck’s dad is a St. Bernard and his mom is a Scotch shepherd.

Buck

Buck is a mixed breed between as St. Bernard and a Scotch Shepherd. He was taken from his home in Santa Clara Valley. Where he protects Judge Miller and his family.

• These dogs are pulling a sled just like Buck and the other dogs did in the book.
