Key Terminology
• Goals are the critical strategic priorities for achieving vision and/or long-term objectives. This currently includes (as an example):

• CSFs are the major areas of work whose completion ensures the success of each Goal. Every CSF has an assigned Leader, a set of key metrics and Action Steps to be completed. An example CSF:

• KPIs document the progress of CSFs. Beyond the corporate metrics already set up, there will be additional KPIs you use such as:

• Action Steps are a chronological series of discrete activities that ensure delivery of a CSF. Each Action Step has a Leader, a Start Date and a Target Date.

Scoring an Action Step – “My Plans” ViewUsers are required to score Action Steps at least every 30 days, using a linear progression scale. Email reminders can be sent for immediately pending or past due Action Steps.
Click the status circle next to the Action Step or double click the Action Step to open the Wizard. • The General tab provides overall information• The Scores tab shows the scoring model and scoring history • Notes can be added on the Notes tab• Attachments can be uploaded using the Documents tab.

Creating An Action Step
Selecting the Add button will open the Action Step Wizard to create a new Action Step.Note: the Achievement Indicator is currently a required field. It is used to specify the scope of the Action Step but can be populated with an “N/A” or “TBD”.
Multiple Leaders: Leaders can be assigned to action items. However, only the Primary Leader has the ability to score and edit the item.

onFocus Scorecard – Drill-down functionsThe Scorecard includes drill-down functionality for each KPI and supporting Action Plan.• The CSF Execution Progress bar is a link to a report of related CSFs and Action Steps.• The “>” icon displays the organizations (sub plans) below that contain the same KPI.
• Select the sub plans to display via this dropdown box.• Select the periods to display (up to two) using these drop down boxes.
The status bar becomes colored as the KPI is attached to a CSF and the CSF is scored.
The number in the status bar represents how many CSFs a KPI is assigned to.
A WHITE status bar means the KPI is not attached to any CSFs.

Reminder Alerts
