Paints for Manufacturing Industries
A two-‐component curing lacquer. They are made up of Urea and alkyd resins which are then cured with an acid catalyst to give it its tough film .AC lacquers contain urea formaldehyde. Due to their good resistance to water / alcohol and most household chemicals make AC lacquers the most popular furniture coating used in the SA furniture manufacturing industry to date.
FEATURES
• Easy to use • Good household chemical / water and alcohol resistance • Fast drying • Good durable finish • Comes in clear / pigmented versions, can be tinted to a very wide range of colours • Gloss level range from gloss to Flat matt / see gloss level options with product list below
DISADVANTAGES
• Contains formaldehyde that has a pungent odour that lingers around for some time • ALL AC lacquers will yellow. Although there are some “Colour stable versions / less yellowing e.g. DURAGLAZE RANGE.
N.B. SEE ELVOTHANE/ACRYLAC RANGE as a non-‐yellowing lacquer system option
BENEFITS
