I. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM The purpose of the program is to bring up qualified, skilled, analytical thinking personnel needed in electronic communication technologies, social life and business life. The graduates from the program are named as ''Electronics Communication Technician''. The purposes of the program; · Having knowledge about the basic principles and norms of electrics, electronic circuits and its components, · Knowing the basic principles of electronic communication systems' wave bands and the usage and modulation of them in communication, · Knowing the phone kit and communication systems, being informed and skilled in phone remote control and linking systems, · In a systematic way, the students are informed about the principles of modern switching systems, traffic concepts in addition to modern telephone stations, computer assisted switching applied to circuit and package switching methods, · Skilled in reparation, informed about advanced electronics in Television and Radio techniques · Skilled and informed about Fiber Optic Communication Systems and Satellite Communication Systems and GSM Communication Systems. II. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND AND LABORATORIES The program, which started its education and teaching activities in 1992-1993, has the following laboratory and equipment opportunities. · Analog-Digital Electronic Education Kit · Analog- Digital Communication Education Kit · Fiber Optic Communication Kit · Antennas and Microwave Education Kit · FM Radio Receiver Education Kit · AM Radio Receiver Education Kit · FM Radio Transmitting Education Kit · AM Radio Transmitting Education Kit · Colored TV Education Kit · RF Circuit Design Education Kit · Telephone Education Kit · Printed Circuit Laboratory (where all types of soldering, montage and mechanic tasks may be applied) The courses are carried out in the laboratories with expert instructors in their field subject and it is aimed that the students will graduate informed about the practical and technological new advances and improvements. IV. REQUIREMENTS TO BE ABLE TO GRADUATE

FROM THE PROGRAM

The students who register for the Electronic

Communication Technology Program should take at

least 120 AKTS credits with a 20-day training period at nd ththe end of 2 and 4 semesters, in total a 40-day

summer training based on practice in order to graduate

from this department.
