Electronic test Instrument

OBJECTIVES

1. Identify the different types of electronic Test Instruments;

2. Describe each type of electronic Test Instrument.

3. Demonstrate on how to properly use each electronic instrument.

MULTI-TESTER

The multi-tester or Multi-meter is a sometimes called VOM(Voltmeter, Ohmmeter, Milliammeter) is the best instrument that can measure voltage, resistance, and current.

ANALOG MULTI-TESTER – Has a moving coil assembly which is characterized by a needle pointer.

MECHANICS

There are 4 game activities namely, Reading of Resistance, Alternating Current, Direct Current and Milliampere.

Each game activity has a corresponding points.

Each group should select 3 participants per game activity.

The highest group who will earned the highest total points is free to leave the room after the class as a reward, While the group who earned the lowest will clean and arrange the room as a punishment.

OTHER TYPES OF TESTER GALVANOMETER Are the basic components of many power and current meters.

WHEATSTONE BRIDGE

Is a resistance measuring device. This particular instrument measures resistance values from 1Ohms to 11.01 Ohms

OSCILLOSCOPE

A unique instrument designed to graphically time varying voltage and current values.

WATTMETER

A meter that indicates real power.

THERMOCOUPLE AMMETER Consist of DC moving coil meter

connected across the junction of a thermocouple.

ELECTROSTATIC VOLTMETER Construct

ed in the form a variable capacitor consisting of a pair of reading and stationary plate.

HOTWIRE AMMETER

It consist of a spring connected to a resistance wire in which current passes through.
