    Electrical on-shore connection of ships in ports

    Proposal from NEK, the Norwegian NC of IEC

    NEK, holding the Secretariat of IEC TC 18, has noted the ongoing debate concerning theadministrative lead of the pro ect Electrical on!shore connection of ships in ports"

    S#$ %ecision 1&'(1) *IEC TC 18 and IS+(TC 8(SC -./The S#$ wishes to inform IS+(T#$ that wor0 has started in IS+ TC 8(SC on the s b ectof electrical on-shore connection of ships in ports , which is clearl2 within the domain of IEC,and re3 ests that the wor0 be transferred to IEC TC 18" It sho ld be noted also that electricalinstallations are specificall2 e4cl ded from the scope of IS+(TC 8"The S#$ invites IS+(T#$ to conc r"5

    Noting that both IEC(S#$ and IS+(T#$ will disc ss the matter in 6ebr ar2 &77', NEK propose the following.

    The wor0 alread2 started in IEC TC 18 in &77 , on electrical on-shore connection of ships in ports, shall contin e with least possible dela2"

    IEC TC 18 is as0ed to see0 active participation from its liaisons, in partic lar I#+,IEC TC )9 and IS+(TC 8 and from IEC TC :: for voltages above 1 0;"

    prod ce electro!technicall2 related standards for ships, and maintained the view that I#+sho ld contin e to refer to IEC standards where appropriate" The I#+ Secretariat wasinformed b2 IEC on ) +ctober &77) that IEC TC 18 is nderta0ing wor0 to pdate therelevant IEC standards regarding shore connection s ppl2 s2stems for ships"5

    The wor0 so far in IEC TC 18 is alread2 doc mented in 18(1797(C%, circ lated in +ctober&77)" The onl2 doc ment related to the s b ect from IS+ is a NGIP *N9&:-"
