InspectorsQualifications

Registered voter in the State

Must declare a party preference

16 or 17 year olds allowed

Cannot be a felon or convicted of an election crime

Cannot be an “immediate family” member of a candidate

AppointmentMade by Election Commission

At least one person of each major political party

At least three members

Politically balance as near as possible

Appointments must be forwarded to the major political parties

challenge – must declare an authority change

May challenge a voter’s right to vote

May challenge inspectors if proper procedure is

not followed

Must carry credentials issued by party

May be expelled for being disorderly

May be behind the pollworker tables

Must be registered to vote in Michigan May view pollbook
