relevant to the current discussion. If your question is off the topic write it
down and ask later.
Classroom Procedures
9. Bathroom breaks: During classroom discussions raise 3 fingers
and wait for me to acknowledge. If there’s no classroom discussion asks in Spanish “¿Me da permiso para ir al baño?” and wait for approval.
Write a pass.10. Moving around:
You ask permission. Do not ask during a classroom discussion
unless it is an emergency.
Classroom Procedures
11. Class dismissal: The teacher dismisses you, not the bell. Do not start packing up prior to the bell. Wait until the teacher finishes and officially
dismisses you with, “have a nice day!” (¡Qué tengan un buen día!)
12. Substitutes & Library: Same rules apply as if I am present; do
your work, respect, be responsible, work quietly, and turn in your work completed .
Classroom Procedures
13.Fire Drills & Emergencies: Exit room and turn right quietly leaving
all belongings behind. Meet teacher (or substitute) in parking
lot #72. Stay with your class at all times. In case you are not in class follow the
next teacher and report to them so he/she can notify administration that you are not inside the building and that you are safe.
Classroom Procedures
14.Tutoring Schedule: Monday – Thursday from 2:15-3:00 p.m. Please notify me before hand in case of
staff meetings, appointments, etc. are taking place during your visit, so we can change your tutoring schedule to the next available day.
How to be successful in the Spanish class: Avoid seating next to friends/classmates that may cause
you to get distracted. Always do assignments even if you think the answers
are incorrect. Make up assignments once you return to school after
being absent. Come to tutoring sessions after school. Ask questions when in doubt. Ask to retake exams if you fail the first time. Be at your best behavior. Be responsible and be concerned for your grades.
Remember this will determine whether you pass the class or not since the teacher in many cases has to decide if you deserve another chance or not (69% average rule).
Remember…I have high expectations for you, I want you to succeed. I want you to make choices in life that will benefit you in the long run. Take my hand and let us walk this journey together, I will facilitate the tools for you to learn how to build a bright and successful future, it will be up to you to use them and achieve great things.
¿Estás listo?(Are you ready?)
