anatomy, Physiology, Medical terminology The overall objective of the program is to acquire knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body. Includes an overview of the diseases related to each anatomical system. Course also includes a comprehensive understanding of the language of medicine.

CPr and first aidThis lesson provides a general understanding the needs of the injured person and, how to give care to the person including CPR until medical help is obtained. Emergency situations that may arise in a Healthcare

professional’s daily routine are addressed including the response techniques learners will require to intervene appropriately during such circumstances. This course is not intended as a certification course for CPR.

eKG theory & PracticeThis section introduces students to patient preparation, EKG machines, performing and mounting of

12 lead, single channel EKG tracings. Review of the cardiovascular system and related terminology. Emphasis on basic rhythm identification and possible disease states as evidenced by the strips obtained in a clinical environment. Occupational Communication Occupational communication is designed to help the student develop communication skills needed for employment. The student will examine the communication process and learn to avoid communication breakdown. The course strengthens effective oral and written communication needed to apply for a job, builds effective listening skills for career success.
