AIGMF Conclave In Pink City Promotes Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and Smart Cities

The All India Glass Manufacturers Federation (AIGMF) executive committee met at Marriott hotel in Jaipur on December 19, 2015. At an interactive session during the meeting, Rajasthan industry minister Mr Gajendra Singh highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modis Clean India campaign, and use of glass as eco-friendly building material for Smart Cities. Emphasizing the use of solar and flat glass for building smart cities, he appreciated Indian glass industrys commitment to Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and Smart Cities and offered support to industry vis-a-vis investment in Rajasthan.

Mr Singh applauded advanced production techniques used by the

glass industry to manufacture light-weight glass bottles and jars, ensuring safety and quality. This benefits both consumers and environment. Like in Europe bottled water, he opined, should be made available in glass bottles in India, too. Glass being 100% recyclable does not pollute environment or affect human health.

HNG Glass Water BottlesHindustan National Glass and Industries Ltd (HNG Group) chairman and former AIGMF president and CAPEXIL ex-chairman, Mr C K Somany, gifted 500 glass water bottles (specially manufactured by HNG) to Mr Singh for use in Sachivalaya (secretariat). The bottles carried Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan logo, urging people to demand glass as a safe packaging material.

Glass for Smart Cities AIGMF president, Mr Sanjay Ganjoo, said there has been a spectacular rise in use of glass in buildings as glass buildings are in vogue all over the country, including Jaipur. The use of glass in buildings, he added, will make smart cities look more elegant, beautiful and eye-catching. Glass application will not only help light up buildings with natural and solar power but also boost economy by efficient energy savings. In tune with Smart Cities vision of Indian government, he emphasized the need for regulation on use of glass in buildings to ensure human safety in case of fire. In the present scenario, he added, there are enough options for glazing in buildings such as curtain walling, structure glazing, bolt glazing or spider glazing, fin-supported glazing, cable glazing, suspended glazing, etc. AIGMF members visited select glass-faade

buildings in Jaipur, reaffirming their commitment to uninterrupted supply of glass as a vital building material for smart cities.

CCPS GuidelinesTo build confidence and provide technical knowhow for ensuring fire safety while using glass in buildings, AIGMF took cognizance of Confederation of Construction Products and Services (CCPS), a non-profit organization, Guidelines on Use of Glass in Buildings: Human Safety. The 2007 CCPS guidelines suggest how to regulate glass in relation to human safety either by restricting use of glass or specifying use of safety glass at critical locations where chances of injury due to glass breakage are high. These guidelines have been mandated by 19 states, Central and state government departments, PSUs, etc.

CSR gestureAs a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) gesture, Mr Ganjoo gifted 200 glass water bottles (specially manufactured by Hindustan National Glass and Industries Ltd) to Jaipur Marriot hotel and 50 bottles to lotus-shaped glass-faade building of Motisons Jewellers. The bottles carried a logo of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan emphasizing that people demand glass

as a safe and sound packaging and container material.

AIGMF senior vice-president, Mr Arun Kumar Dukkipati ,said glass is the trusted and proven packaging for health, taste and the environment. He assured an uninterrupted supply of glass containers for packaging drug formulations, food products or beverages, which is directly linked to Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

Mr Dukkipati felicitated Jaipur Marriott and Motisons Jewellers for use of glass bottles which is a step forward towards clean environment. He said that use of glass bottles complements Prime Ministers vision of Swachh Bharat Mission (Clean India Campaign) as waste from other packaging material litters streets, chokes drains and pollutes rivers. On the other hand, glass being 100% recyclable mostly reaches the junk seller for recycling and adds to clean environment. The Executive Committee acknowledged the support of Mr Nirmal Mundra of Nirmal Glasstech Industries, manufacturers of spare parts for IS 2008 Glass Container-forming machines and associated equipment, and an affiliate member of AIGMF, for hosting Executive Committee Meeting at Jaipur Marriott and arranging for site visits and dinner reception in honour of visiting delegates.

ChinaGlass2016ExpoWillRevealManyAGreenSecretWith at least 564 Chinese glass companies and more than 200 foreign exhibitors having confirmed their participation in the four-day mega event, China Glass 2016 expo in Shanghai from April 11, 2016 to April 14, 2016 promises both visitors and exhibitors an enthralling engagement. The showcasing of latest eco-friendly technology for manufacturing and processing glass and its newer products with a low-carbon footprint and an increased use of green building materials is on the cards at Asias largest glass-related exhibition

The 27th China International Glass Industrial Technical Exhibition aka China Glass 2016 expo, organized by Chinese Ceramic Society and contracted by Zhonggui Exhibition Co Ltd, will be held at Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre in China from April 11, 2016 to April 14, 2016. The exhibiting area spread over 800,000 square metre will have seven halls as more than 800 well-known glass enterprises from 29 countries are expected to participate in the four-day event.

At present the glass industry faces multiple pressures, including excess capacity of traditional product, slower development of new technical product, structural anomaly between supply and demand. Facing resource and environmental constraints and burgeoning labour costs, the growth of glass industry labours a slowdown with the flat glass segment bearing the brunt.

Booth Booking High on Agenda New and old exhibitors at home and abroad are enthusiastic about China Glass 2016 ever since the booth sales began in July last. Besides domestic exhibitors contacting the organizer for booths, a large number of foreign glass companies have been keen to book larger booths than any time ever before. By December 31, 2015, 564 domestic companies had signed up for the event. Among them, North Glass has booked the largest space comprising 1,200 sq metre. Companies which applied for booths even before the last expo was over include Triumph International, Luoyang Float Glass Group, Land Glass, Mingte Glass, Jinjing Group, China Glass Holding,

Weihai Blue Star, CSG Glass, Shanghai SYP Glass, Shandong Guangyao, Flat Glass Group, Shahe Glass Group, HIHO Glass, etc.

Industry 4.0China Building Material Academy (for glass research and design), Kaixin, Guangyao and Hebei Yingxin (for glass deep-processing) have reserved raw space between 100 and 300 square metre as they join China Glass expo for the first time ever. They, among others, include Glaston Group, Bystronic AG, Dip-tech, Kuraray GmbH, Ven Ardenne, Bohle GmbH, SEPR, Asahi Group, Fanuc Co Ltd, Lisec Co Ltd, OMCO n.v. and Vesuvius Co Ltd. Leading foreign companies such as Bottero and Intermac of Italy, Herry T of the US and Grenzebach of Germany have booked nearly as much space as in the last expo with German pavilion netting up to 800 square metre. This reflects the confidence foreign manufacturers have in Chinese economy and its glass industry. With the implementation of One Belt and One Road strategy many companies from countries along the road are pitching their tents at China Glass 2016. They include ENTEC from Kazakhstan, SOYTAS and BEST from Turkey, ARDAKAN and Kaveh from Iran, SGS from Indonesia, DURST

from Singapore, HEAT from India and Glass Service from Czech Republic.

China Glass 2016 is the 27th event since it was launched in 1986. For the last 30 years China Glass has becomes one of the two largest events in global glass besides Glasstec in Germany. It has carved a niche by its focused speciality, high-degree internationalization and by offering the largest exhibiting area in Asia. China Glass is the best platform for demonstrating the latest technology and equipment related to glass manufacture and its processed products. With the change of Chinas economy from traditional to middle and high-end mode, glass industry too has shifted gears for structural adjustment. In tune with the Chinese government policy Chinese enterprises are anxious to acquire technology for energy-saving and consumption-reduction.

China Glass 2016 Focus The focus of China Glass 2016 will be on glass manufacturing-and-processing technology, equipment and products with a considerable impact on low-carbon footprint, energy conservation, emission reduction, new energy resources and green building materials.

The organizer of the event will upgrade services for professional visitors and exhibitors, offering interaction with select media firms in glass segment as also integrated data resource base. More than 20 media houses will act as advertisement carriers. One-on-one basis interaction at the event will be provided via EDM and SMS services. An integrated service platform upholstered by WiFi and instant website upgradation will be ensured at the upcoming expo.

A Man With Never Say Die AttitudeMr Subhash Tyagi, the founder-Chairman of one of the leading and fastest growing glass-manufacturing companies in India Gold Plus Glass Industry Limited, was born in a farmers family at a

small Muzaffarnagar village in Uttar Pradesh. After graduating from Roorkee, he started his career with a petty job in Delhi.

The axiom Coming events cast their shadows before holds true in the case of Mr Subhash Tyagi. His insatiable quest for doing things differently saw him setting up his own glass-trading business in 1985. And by the early 1990s, Mr Tyagi emerged as one of the biggest glass traders in India. Making big strides in the glass industry by his ingenuity and entrepreneurship, he in 1996 started his own glass-processing unit Gold Plus, producing glasses

for automobiles and soon the company started manufacturing insulating glass, toughened glass, laminated glass, etc for architectural application. Growing by leaps and bounds, Gold Plus under the able stewardship of Mr Subhash Tyagi was soon the undisputed numero uno glass-processing unit of the country, proudly providing a varied and complete range of processed glass with the biggest infrastructure in place.

Mr Subhash Tyagi has won many an accolade and award for his corporate social contribution. He is also one of the founding members of Federation of Safety Glass (FOSG), the largest association of all-India glass processors.

Year 2005 was the watershed for Mr Tyagi as also the Indian Glass Industry when he decided to set up a float plant. In November 2006 it was like a dream come true when the foundation stone for the float glass plant was laid by the then Uttarakhand chief minister Mr Narayan Dutt Tiwari. In January 2009 history was rewritten

When even higher quality and production rates are needed, optional Glaston Vortex Plus heating system is best suited for the purpose. Heaters of the system are divided into parts in a lengthwise direction, enabling easier heating control in continuous production. The system also includes widthwise controllable convection for more precise convection-profiling and energy savings. Both these features have a clear impact on the actual furnace output in terms of capacity and quality.

Festo AutomationCenter Dimmable ECONTROL Glass Beckons Industry 4.0

With its new AutomationCenter at Esslingen in Germany, Festo AG & Co KG has entered an era where aesthetics, technology, energy efficiency and sustainability blend to define the role of glass in futuristic 4.0 highrises. The highly modern 16-floor building offers its 400-member staff space for innovation and development of new customer solutions. The high-rise building with its rhombic cross-section is an architectural marvel that also has impressive inner qualities. The sophisticated, sustainable concept provides for maximum energy efficiency with a combination of innovative technologies

efficient energy concept of the new Festo building is as impressive as its outstanding architectural quality.

Sophisticated Architecture Meets Sustainability The dynamic architecture of the AutomationCenter builds a bridge between usability, efficiency and functionality. The outer form reflects what takes place inside: aesthetics paired with sustainability. The rhombic cross-section not only improves the aesthetic values but also serves to optimize air flow in the energetically autarkic building. The building automation in the Center encompasses the entire technical infrastructure: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical systems, lighting, shading, control of people entering the building, security and energy management.

Festos iconic 67-metre highrise building AutomationCenter has on its faade nearly 1,000-square metre dimmable glass from the company EControl-Glas (Plauen) which makes its stellar contribution to the building shell of the future. Utilised in 441 parallel-vent windows, the glass enables an unobstructed view to the outside at all times while with traditional solar-control glazing the internal shading spoils the view especially during the best weather. Since its foundation in 1925, Festo has had its headquarters in the engineering town of Esslingen. Here, a new company symbol has been created with the construction of the AutomationCenter. The highrise building can be seen from far away. Its unusual cross-section in the form of a rhombus also attracts attention even from a distance. The highly

festo view: The transparency of the glass faade provides openness and enables

communication between the interior and the outside world

More Transparency with Intelligent Glass Faade The air flow-optimized, pneumatic, ventilated faade has a total surface area of 8,500 square metre and is largely comprised of glass. This provides openness and transparency. A fascinating aspect of the faade is its changeability: it displays its various facets depending on the season and the amount of daylight. Especially in summer, nearly 1,000-square metre of glazing shimmer in a mysterious blue not only reflects the colour used in the companys logo but also has a practical purpose. The source of the blue shimmer is the dimmable electrochromic glass ECONTROL, which allows the amount of light and the energy entering the building to be varied. The view to the outside, especially in good weather, is an experience. Natural ventilation is also possible at any time as the windows with ECONTROL can be opened manually.

ECONTROL: Glazing 4.0The dimmable electrochromic glass has been used in the construction of the 441 parallel-vent windows of the building. Its colour can be automatically changed from light to blue by the building control technology. On each floor and faade, seven room-high window elements provide open communication with the outside world even when the windows are in a darkened state.

ECONTROL is a future-orientated component for a classical faade solution that meets high-tech demands, says Andreas Beccard of priedemann fassadenberatung. Because of the exposed location, the building cubature, the efficiency and Festos corporate identity, a single-layer, completely preassembled element faade was the obvious choice for the AutomationCenter a second curtain-type glass layer or the use of blinds was out of the question for the building concept.

Ozone Movable Glass Partition SystemStyle With Strength Is The Buzzword

    Product Hunt

Movable glass partitions are operated manually and stacked aside for giving clear spatial view to the area. Unlike other conventional partition systems, the Movable Glass Partition system does not require a track or channel at the bottom. Instead, the track is mounted on the ceiling. Hence, no digging or cutting is required on the floor, ensuring a flawless look. Panels are locked with one another at the bottom for ensuring stability. This system allows creating a frameless glass wall yet ensuring hundred per cent flexibility and mobility within the area.

Three Types Ozone offers three types of Movable Glass Partition systems for different requirements such as with independent glass panels, glass panels interlinked at corners and glass panels interlinked at centre. Movable Glass wall-partitions with panels interlinked work as sliding folding systems. The system has a roller on the upper door strip and panels are interlinked/connected by

hinges. These hinges are part of lower and upper panel strip fittings. This interlinking allows the systems panels to slide and fold for use, either to park aside or create partition.

The lead panel in this kind of arrangement can be operated as a conventional pass door when the

partition is in position. The system is capable of holding panels up to a maximum weight of 120kg and a width of 1,200mm with ground-to-ceiling height of 3,000mm. This system ensures quick and easy operation. The ideal application of this system includes hotels, airports, banquet halls, car showrooms and shopping centres. Designed with utmost precision and creativity, Ozone Glass Partition System conforms to rigidity and strength standards.

Ozone also offers a range of Movable Acoustic Partition Wall Systems with an additional feature of sound reduction that makes it suitable for use in conference halls and banquet halls. So, add a touch of finesse to your interiors with the modern Glass Wall Partition System from Ozone.

Space utilization is of utmost importance in

todays space-constrained era. Open and large spaces

are vanishing slowly with escalating space cost.

Hence, an efficient solution by Ozone in the form of Movable Glass Partition systems ensures rigidity

with quality and strength with style. Its a flexible,

efficient and contemporary solution for expanding or

creating smaller sections for use in office, residential or
