/ Availability and costs (2 – 5 €/kg, depending on the purity grade and the amount used)

l Safety aspects (regulations) and component design
l Equipment to avoid or hand excessive pressures during standstill periods
/ Critical temperature at 31.1 °C
l Unfavourable thermodynamic properties for systems with higher dischargepressures / gas cooler outlet temperatures
/ Limited flexibility:
l Min. evaporating temperature due to the triple point of -56 °C
/ Heavier than air in case of leakages
l CO2 accumulates at floor level
/ Odorless and colorless
l No easy perception in case of leakage (CO2 detectors are mandatory)
