ALSTOM WIND POWER SOLUTIONS
ECO 80 PlatformECO 80 & ECO 86 Wind Turbines
The answer to complex terrains
Features for performanceThe ECO 80 platform was designed and built with a rigorous focus on reliability, performance and efficiency. The main benefits include:
The ECO 80 platform: The ECO 80 platform is a tried and tested range of wind turbines. One thousand ECO 80 platform turbines are now capturing wind energy reliably all over Southern Europe. Rated at 1.67 MW, each turbine generates energy for over 1000 households.
Performance and efficiency: The Alstom ECO 80 turbines, designed to optimise transport for complex terrains, are suitable for medium winds that are typically found on hilltops and coastlines, as well as in many inland areas for low winds. The 80-metre tower height strikes an efficient balance between overcoming wind shear losses and tower material costs.
AlsTOm PurE TOrquETm
Now in the 3rd generation of Alstom‘s wind turbines, the ALSTOM PURE TORQUETM design separates deflection forces arising from wind buffeting from the pure rotor torque required for power generation. The result is a more reliable gearbox.
BlADE lOgIsTICsWith blades of no more than 40m, the ECO 80 platform allows access to most of the onshore sites, simple assembly and erection in complex terrains. The ECO 80 platform provides ease of transpor-tation compared to the new generation of larger turbines.
ElECTrICAl yAW AND PITCh CONTrOlResponsive yaw and pitch controls are the key to stable power generation in a wider range of winds. The new electrical variable speed pitch system keeps rotor speeds stable and allows a smooth cut-off in excessive winds.
AlsTOm sCADA sysTEms – suPErvIsOry CONTrOl AND DATA ACquIsITIONBased on 30 years of turbine maintenance experience, coupled with the latest developments in industrial communications, SCADA provides local and remote access to all the necessary wind turbine data for optimised operation and maintenance.
grID COmPATIBIlITyAlstom turbines are compatible with the most demanding grid codes and provide advanced features such as line-fault ride-through and reactive power injection.
Alstom, one of the most trusted names in power generation, offers a proven wind turbine platform that is ideal for all large-scale wind farms with medi-um and low winds.
