Vision
• ECM as a set of principles applies in any
infrastructure scenario.
• Cloud provides a more secure and less
intensive support apparatus.
• Existing ECM solutions can be either
migrated or become extended to the cloud.
![Page 3: Ecm in the cloud](https://reader034.fdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051818/54b407bd4a79597b478b471c/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
ECM Theory
• “E” Enterprise
• “CM” Adoption of a single repository for Content Management is a myth.
• The value of content diminishes after transactions are completed.
• TCM – Transactional Content Management.
• 18% have achieved enterprise wide adoption of DM/RM system.
• 75% have multiple ECM systems.
• Only 3% have turned off their Network File Shares, although 34% are
keen to turn them off.
• 61% reported that half of their content exists outside of legacy ECM,
stored in LOB systems like ERP.
![Page 4: Ecm in the cloud](https://reader034.fdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051818/54b407bd4a79597b478b471c/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
ECM in a Mobile World
• PC Sales are projected to continue to decline 7.6%
in 2013 over 2012.
• Tablet Sales are projected to steadily increase,
2013 set for 69% over 2012.
• Over half of those surveyed are comfortable with
content being accessed on BYOD or company
issued mobile devices.
• Only 11% of ECM users have mobile access to
content.
![Page 5: Ecm in the cloud](https://reader034.fdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022051818/54b407bd4a79597b478b471c/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
ECM Pivot

in most Fortune 1000 companies, Non-
profit, and Government entities.
• Consolidation: Largely completed but some
companies .
• Process Control: Most large deployments
are very process and transaction centric.
Insurance, Banking, Application Processing.

Scale & Access
• Cloud infrastructure and SaaS applications
scale quickly.
• Multi-Tenant Architecture
• Access to cloud apps is ubiquitous in a
mobile environment.
• Standard authentication models are
available with SAML 2.0, OAuth and direct
API.

Cloud Market $131B*
• Disruption: Every corner of business is
being touched by emerging cloud
technologies and products.
• Consumer Grade: It used to be that
enterprise apps avoided a consumer style
UX, that’s flipping 180%.
