Why do we buy / want the following?

Direction One Consulting

How do we benefit by buying cars? Or mobiles? Or any item of luxury. Correct they make us feel good

Page 8: Ebook the inspired young leader program

We want to be happy, feel secure, relax and have fun. The objects we buy help us experience these feelings.

Direction One Consulting

So what do we all really want?

Page 9: Ebook the inspired young leader program

The I.N.S.P.I.R.E.D. Leader

• But why do I really want this?

• Why do I want more money? Why do I want to be zero debt? Why do I want career, business success? Why do I really want a bigger car, bigger house, more diamonds?– Because I want to do this?

– Or I am afraid of what will happen if me or my family do not have this. Or afraid of what will people say?

– Because “I want to be happy”

• Are you living by your choices or by other people’s choices?

• N – Now why do I want this for myself

• What do we fear?

• Why do we compare ourselves to others all the time?

• Why is it pointless to do that:

• Because it is usually a negative comparison.

• Because you can never win.

• And we always have to win, don’t we.

• What exactly is winning?

• N – Now why do I want this for myself

The I.N.S.P.I.R.E.D. Leader

• What is winning?

• Doing better than before, a comparison with self.

• Improving yourself day by day.

• What do we learn from failure – all failures are lessons. We will keep getting the lesson until we learn the lesson!!

• Life is a package deal – everybody gets something, everybody does not get certain other things.

• Comparison with others is a waste of time. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

• Lets do things only because we love to do them, not because we are afraid of what will happen if we do not do them!!!

• N – Now why do I want this for myself
