1. FREEHAND DRAWING
This technique requires artistic skill, a sense of proportion,

Classification of Freehand Drawing
1. sketch 2. Study 3. Cartoon Preliminary
drawing which the artist makes
to help in planning the composition,
proportion, etc.
More carefully worked drawing
than a sketch.
Full-sized detailed
preparatory drawing for
other media like glass, tapestry,

Styles & Techniques of Freehand Drawing
Line Drawing Outline Wash drawing

Done in plain unbroken lines
and when internal lines are
added to the figure.

2. MECHANICAL DRAWING
Is governed by drafting techniques with special
considerations on the size, shape, and details of the picture
or idea.

PictorialDrawing
PerspectiveDrawing
A working drawing as it
shows the accurate detail and dimension of the object.
Present an object in a
manner similar to a photograph
One of the most basic aspects of
drawing. Looks 3D or realistic
Three-dimensional

Perspective Drawing
A perspective drawing of an object as it is seen by the
eye.
![Page 15: Drawing & Drafting](https://reader035.fdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022070512/589d599c1a28abef688b57d9/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Some simple rules to follow in making perspective drawing
1. A person making the drawing remains in the same place all the time.
2. The horizontal line is always at the eye level of observer on whatever direction she/he looks-north,
south, east, or west.3. Vanishing point is the point at which the lines on the
horizon converge4. The picture plane is an imaginary vertical surgace
between the artist and the subject.

Measurement in Drawing1. Scale & Ruler The most often used in drawing.
2. Triangles Used for doing vertical lines & forming angles of different degrees
3. T-SquareIs useful in drawing the horizontal and straight lines of a triangle.
4. Compass Is used to construct a circle.
5. Divider used to transfer and divide other lines into equal parts.
6. French Curve To draw irregular curves.
