• Return: flat part of drapery that wraps around the end of the rod and conceals the end brackets

• Overlap: the amount of fabric overlapping at center

What is Finished Width?

• The finished width is the width

of the fabricated drapery from

edge to edge.

– Pair Finished Width = the width of

both panels from edge to edge

– Panel Finished Width = the width

of the single panel from edge to

edge

Calculation: Rod Length + Return + Overlap

Rod Length + Return + Overlap/Ease = FINISHED WIDTH

Example:

Two Way Draw 144” + 4” + 4” + 4” = 156” FW

Step 4 Calculate Finished Width

Measuring Length1. Measure up from the floor

2. Best practice is to measure the

panel to start a minimum 4” above

top of window. You can add height in

consideration of room

room décor and client’s request.

3. Best practice for length is;

� 4” below sill (apron length)

� ½” off floor (floor length)

� 1” – 2” on floor (trouser break)

� 6”-12” on floor (puddle length)

* Any panel length touching floor should be

stationary.
