    Acoustics

The architectural acoustics of Barbacco isachieved with the control of its spatialdesign, openings and constructionmaterial. The difference in level of theceiling design limits the noise transmissionin Barbacco.

The openings of the space is controlled byhaving no windows along the space andthe glass door for the entrance, whichcontrols the sound penetration from theexterior into the bar, while still providingnatural daylight.

Among the construction materials inBarbacco are unfinished bricks, timber, stone and stainless steel. Bricks areknown to be great floor and wallconstruction materials for sound isolation

for its rigidity, which means they will notcontract and create sound waves on theother side, and also its mass which meansit is capable of stopping sound waveseffectively. Similarly, stone, masonry andconcrete walls also have these qualities.Wood possesses an ability to reflectsound and a material for sound treatmentas it resonates easily. Certain parts of

Barbacco are finished with timber panelsfor its acoustical features.
