CORE FUNCTIONS The core functions of the Ministry are to:
i. Initiate and formulate ICT policies taking into account the needs and aspirations of the people ii. Collaborate with Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to effectively disseminate information about Government policies, programmes and activities iii. Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the performance of the Communications Sector iv. Development of appropriate regulation to protect consumers and stimulate competition v. Build capacity for the ICT sector vi. Gather and assess feedback on Government policies, programmes and activities vii. Provide professional training in film and television production, broadcast journalism and creative arts viii. Create and enhance awareness of government policies and programmes to the public in English and Ghanaian languages ix. Provide public relations support to the Presidency, MDAs and Metropolitan Municipal & District Assemblies (MMDAs) x. Process and disseminate local and foreign news xi. Promote Ghana's international marketing agenda

I. Developing policies and programmes aimed at promoting the development of communications infrastructure and services for national development. ii. Supporting the development of ICT Industry, Research, Development and Networking among stakeholders. iii. Promoting e-government and governance activities for transparency and public access to information. iv. Promoting national ICT awareness. v. Facilitating the practical creation of wealth through ICT; entrepreneurial skills development and technological Incubation in ICT to aid the promotion of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). vi. Developing and reviewing enabling ICT regulatory and policy environment. vii. Ensuring Quality of Service (QoS) by promoting best practice monitoring of standards. viii. Promoting and encouraging the expansion of Postal Services for the social and economic development of the country. ix. Facilitating the provision of quality Meteorological Data and Forecasts in support of weather sensitive sectors of the economy. x. Investing and strengthening the institutional and human resource capacities of Ghanaians for quality service delivery. xi. Promoting the building of confidence and security in the use of ICTs for national development.

New Times Corporation offers services which include distribution of newspapers to vendors and subscribers, supply of
promotional materials to clients, receiving and designing of advertising concepts, publication of adverts in the
newspapers, distribution of invoices and financial statements to clients.
The time frames for offering the various services are shown in the table below.

New Times Corporation is primarily a newspaper publisher: The Ghanaian Times (The flagship daily newspaper)
and The Spectator (The weekend entertainment newspaper).
New Times Corporation does not charge clients for services provided since the cost of providing these services are
factored in the prices of the newspapers and adverts.
