Before You Go Please check out useful information before planning your

golf trip to Vietnam and South East Asia!

To ensure a successful and enjoyable trip, it is advisable to book well in advance. It is not unusual for visiting golfers to book 12 months in advance. The peak and best season runs from early Oct to late April but golf can be played all year round, weather and course conditions permitting. Nov, Dec until Feb are the busiest months and from June to Sep are great to get the good deals but the quietest month for golf vacations as these months are in rainy months. Always plan and book golf tee times before finalizing hotel and transportation reservations. When planning your trip use ask our travel consultants to assist you, as driving time is more important than distance in Vietnam There are more tee times available on the weekdays than the weekends. Plan for realistic numbers when seeking suitable tee times.








A chauffeur driven coach is a good option for groups of 8 or more. Your chauffeur will coordinate your travel plans and daily activities, ensuring comfort and relaxation during your stay. Do request caddies in advance. Most senior caddies will carry two bags (double). It is advisable to take a least one caddy per four ball. While Vietnam’s summer climate is hot and humid and with rains sometimes, it is advisable to bring wet gears. Always take out travel insurance. There is no real best or worst time to visit Vietnam, with travel possible all year, but the seasons vary across the country and you should be prepared to encounter some rain whenever you decide to travel. Currency/Banks/Credit Cards

The Vietnam Dong (VND or VNĐ) is the currency of Vietnam,

while the American dollar ($US) is widely used and accepted in

Vietnam. Currency exchange can be found at the airports, banks

or foreign exchange kiosk in major cities. Normal banking hours

in Vietnam are 08:00am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. ATMs are

freely available in most towns in Vietnam. Major credit cards are

accepted in shops, hotels, restaurants etc

Medical Insurance Coverage

It is advisable to take out travel and medical insurance before

you leave home as medical and travel insurance coverage is not

included in the tour fares. A doctor is available in most towns.

Pharmacy stores are widely available but if you are on prescribed

medication it is useful to bring an adequate supply with you or

bring a copy of your prescription in case of emergency.

Electric Outlet

The standard electric outlet is 220 Volts AC. To use your

personal appliances you will need a plug adapter that will fit the

flat threepin or round two-pin socket. We recommend universal

adaptors which can be purchased at airports.

Traffic in Vietnam

Traffic laws exist in Vietnam, though they are regularly ignored

by drivers and pedestrians and enforcement is frequently lax.

Traffic is chaotic. It is common for bicycles, motorbikes and even

larger vehicles to drive on the wrong side of the road and even

on the pavements. Major roads are constructed of concrete or

tarmac but are frequently poorly maintained and age quickly due

to high volumes of traffic.

Tipping/Gratuities

The customary tip in Vietnam is 10 to 20 per cent. Hotels and

restaurants may include it in the bill in the form of a service

charge. It’s not customary to tip in pubs unless you have table

service. Tipping porters, taxi drivers is at your own discretion

Telephone & Internet

Nowadays as most people have cell phones or smart phones you

should check with your service provider with regards to charges

for use on overseas travel. In general hotels and guesthouses

will have internet connections or Wi-fi. Prepaid call cards are

available in many phone shops and convenient shops.

Caddie

These are available and mandatory at all courses. Caddies can be

requested in advance and paid together with green fees. Almost

caddies are young female and there are male caddies at some

courses and ‘tip’ is at the discretion of the golfer but a minimum of

10 USD (200 thousands Vietnam Dong) per 18-hole golf round is

recommended.

Equipment Hire

Club hire is available at all courses but strongly recommended to

book in advance if you do not carry your clubs Bring your own golf

shoes.

Electronic Golf Carts/Buggies

Electric carts are available at most of the courses in Vietnam.

Some of the links courses do not permit the use of electric carts.

These should be booked in advance.

Golf Lessons

Golf lessons can be arranged by AGT with the PGA professionals.

It is advisable to book lessons in advance of travel date.

Dress Code

Smart casual attire is expected at al clubs. Knee length shorts and

collared shirts are permissible.

Club Houses

All of our featured golf clubs offer full bar and catering facilities and

golf apparel and souvenirs can be purchased at the well-stocked

‘pro shops’ at each location.
