About Us | In this complicated world, sometimes it's just best to get back to basics. The concept of Doris Pantry is simple. Feed those who are hungry. Help those who cannot help themselves.

This organization was founded by Charles Simmons, the oldest grandson of Doris Wilson. Doris was a woman of modest upbringing with strong roots in the church. She loved her community, and all those in it. Charles Simmons grew up watching his grandmother open her home, her heart, and her dining table to an extensive variety of people. She never cared what you looked like, who your friends were, or why you did or didn't have. All Doris knew was that if someone was hungry, she should feed them. Simple.

After many years of following Doris Wilson's lead by feeding people all over his home town of Indianapolis, IN, Charles Simmons has decided to take the lessons of Doris Wilson and make them work on a larger scale. Through our own personal experiences, trials, and tribulations, we have come to the realization that there are many gaps in the system that government aid is not filling. Our mission at Doris Pantry is very simply to feed those who cannot feed themselves. To do this without prejudice, blame, persecution, or risking the loss of their dignity.

We can, and we will continue Doris Wilson's legacy of Feeding the World, Starting With Feeding Just One.
