Feed Our Seniors. Give Them Real Security… Doris Pantry Charitable Food Donation Service would like to invite you to sponsor a senior in your community. Doris Pantry is a Charitable Organization that started with the single efforts of one woman named Doris Wilson. Doris was not a woman of riches, celebrity status, or ivy league education, but she was a woman with a heart made of gold. Her heart, home, and dining table were always open to any person with and empty stomach and wallet. When Doris was asked why she fed strangers, she simply responded, “If you do nothing else...you feed people”. Because of Doris’ kind nature and giving, the impact she had on the people she served in her community has reached far beyond the years we all shared with her on earth. Today, we proudly carry on the efforts of Doris Wilson through Doris Pantry. Continuing her legacy of blessing others and always reminded of the impact of just one. With the support and contributions of people who share Doris Wilson’s philosophy, Doris Pantry Charitable Food Donation Service has been able to bless hungry souls through: * Organizing and distributing breakfasts for the homeless * Serving sacked lunches all over Indianapolis, IN * Delivering Care Packages containing at least a week supply of food for families in need &... * Supplying hot dinners for the financially challenged and homeless in Downtown Indianapolis, IN This year, Doris Pantry is initiating our Sponsor A Senior Program. Many seniors in our communities are struggling. Some of our parents, grandparents, sisters, and brothers have gone from being the pillars of our communities and homes, to barely being able to stand on their own two feet. Let's face it, there is nothing secure about our social security system, and it is time that we step up and give a little back to the people who raised, shaped, and molded us. Our Seniors deserve dignity and respect. They deserve to enjoy their 'golden years', but are finding it difficult to do so on such limited incomes. Doris Pantry's Sponsor A Senior Program gives you the opportunity to commit to either preparing a Monthly Care Package, or helping Doris Pantry support one particular Senior Citizen every month through a monetary donation to the Sponsor A Senior Program. By feeding seniors participating in this program, we are essentially able to supplement their income and alleviate some of the pressures of their restricted income.
