MiscellaneousWe reserve the right to make alterations in the inter-ests of technical progress.

Unless otherwise stated, all dimensions are givenin cm.

Doka products and systems must be set up insuch a way that all loads acting upon them aresafely transferred!

The stability of all components and units mustbe ensured during all phases of the construc-tion work!

Provide safe workplaces for those using theformwork (e.g. for when it is being erected/dis-mantled, modified or repositioned etc). It mustbe possible to get to and from these workplacesvia safe access routes!

Do not exceed the permitted fresh-concretepressures. Excessively high pouring rates leadto formwork overload, cause greater deflectionand risk causing breakage.

Do not strike the formwork until the concretehas reached sufficient strength and the personin charge has given the order for the formworkto be struck!

When striking the formwork, never use thecrane to break concrete cohesion. Use suitabletools such as timber wedges, special pry-barsor system features such as Framax strippingcorners.

When striking the formwork, do not endangerthe stability of any part of the structure, or ofany scaffolding, platforms or formwork that isstill in place!

Observe all regulations applying to the hand-ling of formwork and scaffolding. In addition, the Doka slinging means must be used - this isa mandatory requirement.

Remove any loose parts or fix them in place sothat they cannot be dislodged or fall free!

All connections must be checked regularly toensure that they still fit properly and are func-tioning correctly. It is very important to check all screw-type con-nections and wedge-clamped joins wheneverthe construction operations require (particu-larly after exceptional events such as storms),and to tighten them if necessary.

All components must be stored safely, follow-ing all the special Doka instructions given in therelevant sections of this User Information book-let!

Further safety instructions, especially warn-ings, will be found in the individual sections ofthis document!

    Wall formwork

Forming walls with Alu-Framax XlifeWith the Doka framed formwork Alu-Framax Xlife, you can achieve perfect forming results even with-out a crane.

The exceptionally high loadability and long lifespanof Alu-Framax Xlife make it highly economical forall wall-forming tasks.

Alu-Framax is unusually versatile and flexible, soyou can quickly form any layout with it.

The panels can be fixed together at any pointaround the frame, quickly and safely, using theFramax quick-acting clamp RU or the multi-functionclamp.

Because the Alu-Framax Xlife panels are so robust, you only need 2 form-ties per 2.70 m of panelheight.

Any fitting-gaps left between the Alu-Framax Xlifepanels are very easy to close. The system gives youa choice between several different options so thatyou can always get the best possible length adjust-ment in each case.

Alu-Framax Xlife also takes corners, stop-end form-work and wall junctions happily in its stride. Heretoo, it gives you perfect, cost-saving solutions.

Matching safety and working accessories makework with Alu-Framax even quicker and easier.

    Instructions for assembly and use

Alu-Framax as a hand-moved form-workThe sequence shown here is based on a straightwall. However, you should always start to formfrom the corner outwards.Ladders must be located so as to create viable "traf-fic routes" in the horizontal. (On a straight wall, forexample, one ladder on the first element andanother on the last).

    Transporting / handling the panels

For offloading panels from a truck, or lifting themon-site a stack at a time, use the Framax transportgear (see "Transporting, stacking and storing").

    Erecting the formwork

Spray the ply with release agent (see "Cleaning

and care"). Fix the first panel to the ground with a panel strut(see the section headed "Plumbing accessories").This stabilises the panel so that it cannot fallover.

Continue lining up panels in this way, clampthem together (see "Inter-panel connections")and attach panel struts. The gang-form is now stable and can be plumbedand aligned exactly.

    Erecting the opposing formwork:

Once the reinforcement has been placed, the form-work can be closed.

Spray the form-ply of the opposing formworkwith release agent.

Stand up the first panel of the opposing form-work. Fit the form-ties (see "Form-tie system"). Now the

opposing formwork is also secured against top-pling over.

In the same way, carry on lining up panels, clamping them together and fitting form-ties.

Mount the pouring platform (see "Pouring plat-forms with single brackets").

Fix the attachable ladder to the pouring platformto prevent it tipping over.

Attach end-of-platform sideguards and opposingguard-rails (see "Pouring platforms with singlebrackets").

    Caution!

Never use a sledge hammer to plumb thepanels! This would damage the profiles of the pan-els.Use only proper plumbing tools (e.g. a

special pry-bar) that cannot cause any

    damage!

    Pouring

Pour the concrete.Make only moderate use of vibrators, carefully

co-ordinating the times and locations of vibratoruse.

    Striking

Remove the end-of-platform sideguards, pouringplatform and opposing guard-rails.

Beginning with the opposite formwork, dismountthe panels one-by-one - take out the form-tiesand remove the connectors to the neighbouringpanel.

Lift the panel away and clean concrete residue offthe ply (see "Cleaning and care").

Alu-Framax as a crane-moved form-workLarge multi-panel elements can be pre-assembledface-down on a level screed floor. See "Verticalstacking of elements" for detailed instructions on

how to attach the interpanel connectors. These multi-panel elements can be lifted usingcrane-hoisting gear and the Framax lifting hook. Fordetailed instructions see Section "Resetting bycrane" and the Operating Manual for the Framaxlifting hook..

Do not exceed the maximum permissible

rate of placing. See also "Concrete pressure on perpen-

dicular formwork to DIN 18218" in theDoka Calculation Guide.

    Permitted concrete pressure: 60 kN/m2

Concrete compaction by vibration mustcomply with DIN 4235 Part 2.

    Observe the stipulated striking times.

    Max. load- bearing capacity:

    1000 kg / Framax lifting hook(feasible formwork area with 2 lifting hooks =approx. 30 m )

If "hybrid" gang-forms (containing both Alu-Framax Xlife + Framax Xlife panels) arelifted and reset by crane, they must be givenadditional stiffening reinforcement.Do not exceed the permitted design valuesof the Alu-Framax Xlife connector compo-nents! (see "Inter-panel connections")

For more information on how to handle tallformwork, please refer to "Instructions forAssembly and Use" in the User Informationbooklet "Doka framed formwork FramaxXlife".

    Adaptability

Possible combinationsThe perfect panel size-grid gives you innumerablecombinations, in both width and height. You canuse the panels either upright or horizontal, and the15 cm increment-grid gives you optimum adapta-

bility of the formwork to the dimensions of thestructure, at all times.

    Schematic representation

    Stepless height offset

The fixing bead around the inside of the profilesenables the connectors to be fastened anywhere onthe frame. This allows adjacent panels to bestagge-

redin height continuously, i.e. without being con-fined to any fixed grid. This means that the form-work can easily be accommodated to e.g. steps, slopes and uneven floors, at no extra cost in termsof time.

    Schematic representation

Carry on forming with in-situ timber

Alu-Framax formwork gives you easy connectionswhen you need to "fill-in" with in-situ timber form-work. Between them, the universal waling, thewedge clamp and the integrated bolt system makeit easy for you to join Alu-Framax panels to squaredtimbers and ply sheets.

Placing form-ties in the frame profile The Doka form-tie system 15.0

As an alternative to the plastic tube with universalcone, there is also a distancer in the form of a com-

    plete form-tie sheathing tube.

The stoppers for plugging the distancers are alsoincluded.

    Note:

Doka also offer economical solutions for makingwatertight form-tie points.

    In general:

Fix a form-tie in every form-tie sleeve that is notcovered over by a super-plate.

Always tie in the bigger (wider) of the two panels.

For exceptions, see the sections headed "Lengthadjustment using closures" and "Vertical stackingof panels".

    Plumbing accessories

Panel struts ensure that the formwork remains sta-ble against wind loads, and make it easier to plumband align the formwork.

Number of panel struts on 2.70 m wide gang-form:

*) Up to a height of 3.30 m, the spacing of the props can beextended to 4.05 m apart.

The values given here apply up to a height of 8 m above the sur-rounding ground. For heights of more than 8 m, the correct spac-ing of the props must be calculated as required by the higherwind loads.

    Note:

Every gang-form must be supported by at least 2panel struts.

Example:Where the formwork height is 5.10 m, the following

    are needed for every 5.40 m wide gang-form: 2 Panel struts 540

    Connection in the waling profile

    Product features:

Can be telescoped in 8 cm increments Fine adjustment by screw-thread All parts are captively integrated - including the

telescopic tube (has safety stop to preventdropout)

    Important note:

The formwork panels must be held stable inevery phase of the construction work! Please observe all applicable safety regula-tions!

    Caution!

There is a risk of the formwork tipping overin high winds. If high wind speeds are likely, and when

work finishes for the day or before pro-longed work-breaks, always take extraprecautions to fix the formwork in place.

Suitable precautions:- set up the opposing formwork- place the formwork against a wall- anchor the formwork to the ground

For more information (wind loads etc.) seethe section headed "Vertical and horizontalloads" in the Doka Calculation Guide.

    Doka column formwork platform 150/90cm

    Product description

The main features: This pre-assembled, ready-to-use platform

ensures convenient and safe working on columnformworks. It can be used on columns of anycross-section.- with Alu-Framax Xlife: from 25x25 to 60x60cm- with Framax Xlife: from 25x25 to 75x75cm

The slinging points recessed into the deckingmake it a quick and easy job to lift the platform bycrane. Only one column formwork platform canbe used on each column!

Because the platform can be re-suspended soquickly, it can "migrate" from one formwork tothe next during concreting. This means that oneplatform is sufficient to serve several column

formworks. The practical swing-out side railings make it easy

to get on or off the platform. Both the side rail-ings can be fixed in either the open or closedposition.

Transporting, stacking and storingThe Doka column-formwork platforms are pre-assembled and are easy to transport and store inthe folded-down position - it is not possible forthem to slide sideways.
