Getting!started!

Opening!the!file!

1.! Download!the!file!LeadMD-Marketo-Wordpress-PlugIn,!and!unzip.!2.! Once!you’ve!unzipped!your!file!you!will!see!a!folder!structure!like!the!image!shown!to!the!right.!Focus!on!the!“Marketo'Email'Template”!folder!for!this!step.!

Making!your!email!template!in!Marketo!

Preparing!your!email!template!

1.! Within!that!folder!you!will!find!an!“Email'Images”!folder!that!contains!4!white!social!images.!!

2.! Upload!the!social!images!and!a!.png!version!of!your!logo!into!the!Images!and!Files!area!within!the!Design!Studio.!

3.! Next,!open!up!the!Email Template.html!file!in!a!text!editor!of!your!choosing.!4.! Swap!out!the!social!image!URLs!with!the!Marketo!image!URLs!you!uploaded!to!the!image!gallery.!

5.! Change!any!other!place!holders!in!the!email!template!with!your!logo!and!company!information.!!

6.! Update!the!Unsubscribe'link!with!your!own!Marketo!unsubscribe!page!URL.!

Creating!your!template!

7.! Once!you!have!your!template!styled!to!your!liking,!copy!the!code!from!your!text!editor.!

8.! Go!back!to!Design!Studio!within!Marketo!9.! Create!a!new!Email!template.!!10.!Within!your!blank!template!click!on!“HTML'Source”'tab!at!the!top!left!hand!corner.!!a.! (see!image!1!to!the!right)!

11.!Then!paste!your!code!directly!in!the!text!editor.!12.!Click!the!“Preview”!tab!next!to!the!“HTML!Source”!tab!to!see!a!visual!of!how!your!template!looks.!!a.! (see!image!2!to!the!right)!

13.!Once!you’re!satisfied!with!your!template,!click!“Save'and'Close”'on!the!top!right.!

14.!Then!Approve'your!template.!a.! See!imae!

Setting!up!your!campaign!&!program!in!Marketo!

Creating!your!program!

1.! Create!a!new!Marketo!program!using!the!default!program!type!and!your!desired!channel.!!

2.! Once!it’s!created,!navigate!to!the!“My'Tokens”'section!of!the!new!program!and!create!4!rich!text!tokens.!!

3.! Name!the!4!tokens!using!the!exact!verbiage!listed!below.!The!tokens!are!case!sensitive.!!

a.! Body b.! Header c.! HeaderSummary d.! Subject

4.! Create!a!new!email!as!a!local!asset!within!the!program!using!the!template!created!in!the!design!studio.!!!

5.! Place!the!subject'token!you!just!created!in!the!subject'line'of'the'emailf!all!other!tokens!are!already!in!the!proper!position!within!the!email.!There!is!no!need!to!populate!the!default!verbiage!within!the!tokens.!

!6.! Close!and!approve!the!new!email.!

Creating!a!new!smart!campaign!

7.! Create!a!new!smart!campaign!as!a!local!asset!within!the!program.!8.! Name!it!using!this!exact!verbiage!“SendEmail”.!

Note:'The!name!of!the!smart!campaign!is!case!sensitive.!!Do!not!use!any!spaces.!!

9.! Place!the!appropriate!filters!you!would!like!to!your!for!your!send!within!the!smart!list!of!the!campaign.!!!

10.!Place!the!send!email!flow!step!within!the!flow!of!the!campaign!with!any!other!steps!you!would!like!to!perform!within!the!smart!campaign.!!

11.!Set!the!campaign!schedule!to!“Every'Time”.!! !

Connecting!Marketo!to!Wordpress!

Install!plugin!

1.! Go!back!to!your!local!folder!find!the!zip!file!named!Plugin-Marketo Wordpress Connector.zip!

2.! There!are!two!ways!to!install!the!plugin!a.! To'install'via'FTP'go'to:!click!here'b.! To'install'directly'in'Wordpress:!click!here!'

3.! Once!it’s!installed,!you!will!have!a!“Marketo'Configuration”'section!in!your!left!navigation!pane!within!Wordpress.!

Configure!your!plugin!

4.! Navigate!to!the!“Marketo'Configuration”!section!of!the!plugin!in!the!navigation!pane!5.! Enter!the!information!for!the!Soap'Endpoint,!User'ID,!and!Secret'key!

Add!your!program!names!

6.! Now!it’s!time!to!enter!your!program!name!under!settings!on!that!same!page!7.! Next!to!“Program'Name”!you’ll!notice!a!“for'Digest”!and!a!“for'Single”'area,!you!can!use!the!same!program!for!“Single”!and!“Digest”'type!emails!or!create!separate!programs!for!each.!!

8.! Once!you!save!the!program!name!it!will!be!added!to!the!pick!list!in!the!gray!area!below!the!program!name.!

9.! Now,!you!can!select!this!or!any!other!program!you!have!created!and!added.!

Sending!out!the!email!in!Wordpress!

1.! Once!your!plugin!is!configured,!go!back!to!your!Marketo!Configuration!tab!in!the!left!navigation!pane!within!Wordpress!to!schedule!a!campaign.!!

2.! Click!“Schedule'Campaign”.!3.! Enter!your!email!subject!line!in!“Subject'of'Digest”!field.!4.! Select!the!date!and!time!you!wish!the!post!to!be!sent!in!!'“Schedule'Time”.'

5.! Select!a!header!image!to!be!used!at!the!top!of!the!email.!!a.! Images!must!be!600px!wide.!!b.! There!is!no!height!limitation.!

6.! Write!your!email!in!“Digest'Header'Summary”!as!an!optional!lead!in,!into!the!content!itself.!

7.! Select!your!“Template'Type”!a.! Digest!or!Single!

8.! Select!the!“Post'Type”'or!category!you!would!like!to!pull!from!!a.! This!is!a!multiNselect'pickNlist!

9.! Select!the!age!of!the!content.!!a.! Content!is!divided!into!posts!that!have!been!previously!sent!out!and!posts!that!have!not.!!

b.! A!third!option!allows!all!content!to!be!viewed!at!once.!

10.!Choosing'what'content'to'share'in'the'email:'a.! The!next!option!allows!you!to!choose!your!posts!to!use!in!the!email.!!

i.! If!the!“single”!option!has!been!chosen,!you!may!only!select!one!post.!!

ii.! If!the!“digest”!option!has!been!chosen,!you!may!select!as!many!posts!as!you!like.!The!plugin!will!automatically!format!the!email!for!the!amount!of!posts!you!choose!to!include.!!

11.!Select!the!program!you!wish!to!use!for!the!email!send.!a.! The!programs!that!appear!for!use!are!controlled!by!the!previous!setup!page!

12.!Then!schedule!your!campaign!to!send!
