IDENTIFIERS *Georgia
ABSTRACTGeorgia's Quality Core Curriculum (QCC) originated in 1984
with a recommendation for review every 5 years. In 1996, teachers,administrators, parents, and business leaders throughout Georgia reviewed andanalyzed the existing QCC in an effort to update the curriculum, reflecttechnological advances, and create a more effective base for teaching. This1999 report on Georgia's education for students in grades 6-8 presents corecurriculum requirements in the areas of language arts, mathematics, science,sccial studies, health and physical education, fine arts (dance, music,theater, and visual arts), technology/career education; and agricultureeducation. For each curriculum area, the report presents at introduction anda description of the revision process and revisions made for that specificarea. (SM)
