Issues

Security section of 802.15.7-2011 taken from 802.15.4-2006

– Many errors have been found in 15.4-2006 security section

– Fixed for 802.15.4-2015 No Key Management Protocol support

– Provided by 802.15.9 New functionality in 15.7 revision

– How will this impact security

Approach for MAC security

Determine security requirements of new 15.7 functions

Determine applicability of 15.4-2015 security corrections

Write new security section

Approach for KMP support

Simple approach– Add IE support used by 802.15.9 for 15.4

– Annex to describe use of 802.15.9 instead of revision to 15.9

Bit more work if EthType added to 802.15.7– Add IE support as above

– Annex how to use EAPOL or another EthType value for 802.15.9

More work– Also require addendum to 802.15.9
