● It was created by Barney and Ally Hartman brothers from Tennessee
● Mountain Dew was introduced into the world in 1940 in the United States
● They’re most recent released statistics shows that they own 6.7% of the U.S. soda market share.

● Mountain Dew holds fourth place after big names such as Coca Cola, Diet Coke, and Pepsi
● The Hartman brothers created Mountain Dew as a joke, but when a bottler in a neighboring city asked for the rights they realised they had something real in their possession
● The brothers developed Mountain Dew in the 1930’s mixing soda in whiskey
